I never really realized how hard it is being a royal. You can get everything that you want. From the smallest things as clothes, to gadgets and to buildings, you can have everything, even friends.
Its not like you're buying frienship but everyone would be nice to you because of your state. You don't have to please anyone, or so I thought.
As soon as I got home from camp, I went to find Papai and Mamu seating at the veranda.
"Papai! Mamu!"
I gave them each a hug.
"How has my favorite grandchild been?" said Papai.
I rolled my eyes. "It's not like you have any other grandchild to choose from."
"Oh, Come here honey." Mamu said.
I went to sit on Mamu's lap. I know that I'm already big and heavy, but I still love to sit on Mamu's lap, and she loves it too.
"Soooo... Anything you want to tell me?" I asked.
"I guess you're mother would like to talk that matter with you. She said she'll call after work." Mamu said.
"Okay." I said.
"Any new friends?" Papai said, changing the subject.
"Yeah! I have 5 amazing roommates. Chloe and Diane from Annagon, Cielo from Kenningbrooke, Rebecca from Werschbak and Margo, she is also having her vacation here and she's staying with her aunt in Alberta."
"That's great! Now you'll have friends who can take you see Pelipia." Papai said.
"Are you trying to get rid of me Papai?"
"Of course not, my child. You're my favorite grandchild, aren't you?"
We all laughed.
"Speaking of, I also met the prince...
"And?" They both said, and obviously excited.
"Well, he asked me if I could come to a tea party tomorrow."
"Sure, do you want me to drive you there?" Papai asked.
"But first!, we have to find you a dress." Mamu exclaimed.
I've never seen them both get this excited.
"Its's just a tea party, why do I have to dress up?"
"Honey, you are going to the palace, you have to be at your best, and the prince invited you..."
"Its not like it matters. There's going to be a lot of girls there, its not like I will get noticed, anyway."
"The more reason we have to shop..... Henry, will you please drive us? We're going shopping."
Papai then went to get the keys of the car and off we go to buy a dress.

"You sure this is not too much for a tea party?". I asked.
"This is a decent tea party dress honey. Just simple and yet, enough to get attention." Mamu said, patting the dress to perfection.
"Just enough?" I asked and looked at my self in the mirror. I'm wearing a halter neck teal dress, which actually is pretty, knee length balloon-type skirt, a peep toe heels, and a hat that makes me look like a flower girl.
"With this Mamu?"I said pointing to my hat. "I don't think so."
"Oh come on honey, its just normal to wear hats during tea parties. We always wear them during tea parties in the palace. You would look more odd if you won't wear one."
She said with a smile that I couldn't disagree with.
"Fine fine. Now, lets get this and go home. I have to talk to mom."
"That's my girl. Now go to the car with your Papai and wait for me there."

Mamu's taking a bit long paying for the dress. I wonder what's taking it that long...
"Child?" Papi said.
"Yes, Papai?"
"I'm sorry that we have to hide you from the truth of us being noble. I hope that you'll understand the decision of your mother as we had."
And then Mamu came and we went home.

Just as we arrived, Agatha, Papai and Mamu's helper gave me the phone.
"Hello?"
"Cassey, darling? How are you? Agatha told me that you and your grandparents went out shopping?" Its mom. She sounds confused.
"Yeah mom, I'm going to a tea party at the palace."
"Oh! That was fast.....Cassey, honey, are mad at me for not telling you about it?"
"I don't know, mom. I'm not mad but I just don't get it why you didn't tell me."
"Oh honey, Im sorry. I was planning to tell you before you leave but I just didn't get the chance. Its just that... That... I've lived that life and its really hard. I didn't enjoy that life. I want freedom. I want choices, and I didn't get both of that from being a noble. I don't want you to face that thing like me."
"But mom, why does it make sense? We're in New York, its not like I have to fill any duties in New York."
"Cassey, it would not be the same if you knew it. You wouldn't see the world the same way. Choices will always be dependent to what you will be.....
"What I will be?"
There's a long pause in the phone...
"One day, you have to fulfill your duty as a noble of Pelipia."
"Whaaat?, what duty?"
"After your grandpa retires, I would have to take his place, and then there's you.."
"But mom, I don't know a thing being that! I didn't even know I could be like that a week ago."
"I'm sorry honey, we just thought of what's best for you. For you to have a normal life."
"Yeah right mom."
"Cassey..."
"I'm tired mom, I just got home from shopping today, I also have to prepare for the tea party tomorrow. I have to go. I'll talk to you next time. Bye."
And just like that, I ran to my room and closed it. I heard Mamu calling me but I just want to be alone now.
What are they thinking? Did they actually taught that I could live a normal life by not telling me and telling me now that I would have to claim the position in the future? Seriously? What's in their mind?
Just a week ago, I was this girl who doesn't even know what exactly to take up for college. Not knowing that I already have a position to fill when I grow up.
This is insane! Totally insane.
Tears keep falling from my eyes. Its like I don't know what to do anymore. I don't even understand them. I don't understand this!
So what now, Am I going to give up all the things I've build at home? Not like I'm popular or anything.
I don't know. I don't know anymore...
I feel...
I feel lost.
