I went to my room with Claire and Calix.
"Please sit. I'll just get it."
I went to the closet to get the gown.
But...
The gown's not there...
The gown's not here!
I'm sure I've put it in there last night when we arrived. Where is it? I searched all over, but none.
I went outside empty handed. I feel sick. There's a ball later with me as the Prince's special guest and I have nothing to wear.
"Is something wrong?" Calix asked.
"My gown. It's.... It's not here."
"Are you sure brought it here?"
"Yes."
"Maybe it's in your grandparent's bedroom."
"No, I put it here in my room. I never went to their room."
"Maybe it's a sabotage! You are the Prince's special guest!" Claire exclaimed.
"Is your room messy? Was there any note?"
"None."
"Let's not panic. We could always check the surveillance camera."
As we are about to go out mamu entered my room.
"What's wrong child? You look pale. Are you sick?"
"My gown, Mamu. I can't find it."
And mamu smiled.
"Relax, I went to the modiste and let them repair few minor details. I went here this morning and forgot to tell you. The gown should be here by late afternoon."
"That's a relief mamu, we thought it was a sabotage." My blood begins to flow in my veins again.
"Not to worry my child, I anticipate the likes of that event. Eventhough everyone here is educated, there will still be some who will get jealous of you. So I've prepared, aside from that gown, I still have 3 more stowed away."
"Oh. Thank you mamu!" I hugged her tightly.
There's a knock on the door. I went to open it.
"Good day, my lady. A letter for you."
There's a piece of paper on a tray. I picked it up "thank you, sir."
Written on the letter:
"You look lovely today. Excited to see you later, my lovely. -L"Louie wrote a letter to me!, in his handwritting.
I couldn't stop myself from smiling. I closed the door and went back to company.
"Anything?" Mamu asked.
"No, just a letter." I smiled.
I felt Calix twitch, maybe I shouldn't have acted that way, he'll always know. I know he hasn't told me he liked me, but everytime something like this happen, he feels uncomfortable. I know its assuming, but it's how it looks like. It's confusing, really.
A few minutes later, the stylists entered the room. A man in black, and four girls in white.
"Carlo! Good to see you!" Mamu went to the very elegant man in black.
"It's always my pleasure, Lady Mindy." They kissed on both cheeks.
And Carlo saw me.
"Is this the granddaughter? The Prince's date?"
