Galveston, Texas
Omniscient
There is not a sound in the van, save for the clicking sound being made as the woman driving changes the radio station continuously. Unsatisfied by the options she's hearing, to which she scoffs.
The air is thick and hot due to the lack of conditioning.
The tall brown skin woman in the backseat knocked out cold, not by tiredness, but due to the excessive heat that has exhausted her lungs and has made it hard for her to inhale without a struggle. Water doesn't help, and it isn't asthma, it's the heat. Her head was pounding hard before she just went unconscious. Her body just succumbed to the circumstances.
On top of that, she didn't have anything to eat. Just an 8 ounce water bottle but nothing more.
The driver keeps looking back in hopes she'll wake up
She occasionally uses a spray bottle to mist her to make sure she won't die of a heat stroke. However she feels it might be too late when she looks back after a few minutes of clicking, and realizes that the uncomfortable low groans from the other woman has now faded to silence.
"Meg! Aye Meg!" Jaime tries nudging the woman's shoulder, trying to lean back while driving with her other hand. "Aye man, wake up!"
She fearfully gets her boss on the phone when Megan doesn't respond. Doesn't even flinch or show any sign of life.
"Shit, shit, shit."
There is finally an answer on the phone, "Hello?"
"Aye boss..." Jaime looks back and sees that Megan still looks the same. "Aye boss, look, I got Megan, now. But she's not responsive."
"WHAT?!"
"What do I do?!"
"Confirm if she's dead! If you can't find a pulse, dispose of her purse or any type of personal belongings and you're gonna have to drop her off in a lake with some rocks in her pockets! I can't have any one trace back to me, you hear me!? This is gonna make the investigation flare up and it will look worse on my end! I told her ass to stay put and not try to run but look what her dumbass did!"
Jaime goes quiet and gulps glancing back at Megan in the backseat of the van, pale, the color in her face gone. She's a little pissed and annoyed that King would come and call her best friend a dumbass but he is the only person she can really speak to at the moment about this so she can't stay hung up on it for too long.
