Me: Im On my way
sam sam:
sounds good MaMe:give me about 5 minutes. Pick up line is long.
Samira lifts her head up from the phone as I approach the pickup dock at the school.
She opens the backdoor to place her backpack in the backseat along with her duffel bag with her practice clothes.
She flies into the front seat and fans herself. It makes me laugh sometimes how she acts after school. She acts like It's some sort of time share.
"Hey, girl, how was school?"
"Good, ma. Can you drive I don't want to be here around these people." She groans.
"Watch your mouth." I playfully shove her shoulder. "Remember we're going to the grocery store okay?
"Okay." She plugs in the music like she always does.
Sometimes Megan will question if I actually did give birth to her or not, we are all too alike. She's talking about school as I ask her about anything that's due and all her assignments. I love that she's made improvements and opened up to getting help and tutorials.
She has so much potential. She even got excited on the idea of going into a branch of the military. She's very athletic and tech savvy so Megan and I have been looking into helping her get as much info on that as she can. She's considering the Air Force and the Marines.
She has so much potential.
"Ma, you have plans for dinner?"
"Meg requested Ribs and some dirty rice. What about ou?"
"Ouuuu. and Ma', you should make some lemonade with that too!"
I smile, "You know Megan is gonna continue to add pounds of sugar to it behind my back."
We both shudder remembering the time she went overboard and we all got sick that night.
I turn the right when it's my turn and Samira screams before I can even react.

Megan
It's another hectic day of anesthetizing patients for surgeries as routine goes and prescribing and administering medications as usual. I'm standing behind the receptionists at the front desk looking over my most recent patient's information regarding allergies when I'm jolted by the emergency room alarm. I work in the operation room which is on the same floor as the ER, sometimes trauma patients need to be operated on immediately.
