I've been home since the accident. Strictly by Megan's request. I'm fine with it. I feel uneasy anyways because something tells me it's not an accident. I didn't see the other driver but the way the car just plowed into ours out of nowhere, I just don't know.
Samira doesn't seem to believe it was an accident either. Before the care dove into us I caught her looming over to the side. She mentioned something about it but I didn't mention anything further.
That was until everything went black and we woke up in the emergency room.
"You want some coffee this morning, Sam?"
She limps as she's still getting used to the knot in her side.
"No thanks, ma. Please, I don't. wanna go back to school today."
"You got to, kid." Megan zooms by as she is collecting her lunch box and purse for work. "Absences count against you. Senior year is coming up."
"I'm just scared."
"I know, kid. But we can't leave more room for suspicion. How would we explain this situation in order to clear those unexcused abscenses?"
"I know... I just don't feel good."
Megan hasn't told me about her meeting with Teyana and I haven't pressed. I understand safety and nowadays we have had suspicions of bugs in the house. We don't want to risk it. Not at all.
I get my purse ready to take Samira.
"I know, kid. Trust. We will handle this. I will handle this."
I look over at Megan. I see a different person. Not completely different. But I can tell she's evolved. It's not necessarily negative. But sometimes I wonder if she has too much on her plate she doesn't want me to help her at all and it's beginning to get very scary to see. She is becoming this hard person. Someone that I'm struggling to talk to at times.

II'm downstairs laughing to myself as I Pick up the last pillow from the floor. The three of us were playing some really competitive board games and we ended the night off with some UNO. It got very competitive and aggressive.
We made pillow forts and hid behind them to keep cards =rom showing. We even invited Ryan and Lauren over and enjoy ourselves playing a good game.
That is until I hear sobbing just over the music I put on in the background. I know It's Megan. The two of us are home alone on her off day.
It's definitely coming from our bathroom.
I can tell it's serious. Not fully sure why, but there's something that just rakes every cell in my body the more I hear her sobs. They become louder and louder as I come upstairs.
