Omniscient

It's now been 5 days of Megan squatting in some random stranger's tool shed in their garage. Megan has grown restless and fearful of how she's gonna make her way back home. Fuck it, anywhere but, because she still sort of wants to skip town badly.

She hasn't eaten since the canned food. She's just felt bad and her conscience is eating her alive about it.

Stealing.

Stole.

She stole.

It's all that plays through her mind.

She misses Jaime badly. She's wanted nothing but her best friend's comfort but Jaime is god knows where, according to Megan's knowledge.

But what Megan doesn't know is that Jaime herself, is thinking of ditching everything back in Houston. The woman has two duffel bags ready, one with clothes, the other packed with cash to the brim as if she'd stolen from a bank. She is grieving the loss go her friend even though Megan turned out to be completely alive.

She'd never thought her boss who gave her a well paying job, for someone without anything but a pharmaceutical degree would run her out of town. King seemed nice, down to earth, like one of those "for the people" people you see. He would make a splendid politician, because he knows how to manipulate and move a crowd like second nature.

Sheryl got a stroke from all the stress, which means she retired. The teenage boy just quit and got in trouble with his parents when the cops showed at his door, even though he didn't know a thing about shipments and how the money was handled after he put it in the register.

The entire franchise has been a mess, King getting exposed not too long later on the news for fraud. He's known statewide and soon nationwide.

Everything, the life that Megan knew, all of it. It's all gone. It will never be the same.

A rumbling sound from her stomach makes her stop ruminating and silently crying about her life. She's hungry as hell and doesn't know what the hell to do.

The pain in her stomach is agonizing and she questions what to do next. She pokes her head out the shed, there's no car in the garage. She begins to get more comfortable, her bare feet touching the concrete floor of the garage as she stands tall and rolls her shoulders back, hearing and feeling a relieving pop.

"Aw shit." She groans quietly under her breath.

She sees the door to the inside of the house cracked open. She gulps hard. She's so hungry, she might just act irrationally and go inside. The garage doesn't have windows so she doesn't know if it's night or day at all.

"Just do it. Do it." Megan says to herself ever so quietly.

Self regulation has been something that Megan has found herself doin any times before. Before takis rate exams when ever she was at school, as she was opening acceptance letters, before having to deliver an oral speech, when she had to take her permit and driving exam. How ever not only is this moment different but Megan is more willing to be caught than anything. Never has she ever starved like this.
