Another Friday meant a night spent alone, but Hana should have been used to this by now.

Her phone hadn't rang once, her last message to Changmin left unread as she stared at the ceiling.

She remembered when Friday's were fun. The last school day of the week meant celebrating one way or another, and a date with Changmin always especially cheered her up.

Sighing, she found herself out on her bedroom balcony again.

This time, she was surprised to see that there was no disco lights across the street. Instead, Sunwoo's window presented almost complete darkness except for the dim light in the corner.

"Studying?" She mumbled to herself, followed by a light chuckle. "Never."

She envied him in a sense. They seemed to be the exact opposite in so many ways, yet so similar. Maybe that's why they never got in.

Hana recalled the time when they were eight, how they were both awarded the silly spelling test award at the end of the school week.

The two held the prize paper side by side, throwing childish glares at one another as they tugged.

They continued to tug violently until the paper split in half, resulting in the boys cries erupting in the classroom as the girl simply laughed. Everyone who looked on marked that the day that their rivalry started.

Hana almost felt bad for the boy, but when she realised that she didn't have it in her - that's when she constantly found herself competing with him.

Maybe it was stupid, a little childish - but they couldn't stop.

Just like her thumbs couldn't stop her from unlocking her phone, texting her boyfriend even though he was evidently ignoring her.

She looked desperate, but maybe she was.

It was then she heard the only noise that came of the silent street all night, that just so happened to be the pinging of a text.

"It's Hana," she heard the faintest voice say. "Give me two seconds."

The girl ducked on her balcony, peeking through the little gap to see her boyfriend crossing the road, two girls by his side.

Her phone buzzed in her hand. "Just going to sleep, I'll text you in the morning."

She heard the noise of a door opening and the girls cackling. Her heart thumped in her chest as she felt sick to her stomach. Who were they, and why was he lying?

Assured that they were out of sight, the girl stood up and looked towards the door across the street.

Sunwoo had stopped by the door, looking right at her before shutting the door over.
