Her mother failed to do so. The pair stared at their tickets that were side by side.
"Hana, please ask your mother to call us as soon as you two land safely," Mr Kang practically begged. "I'm sorry things have ended this way."
With that, the two were left alone at the airport. They sat side by side, but one seat apart, at the waiting area.
Silence to them was golden. It seemed they both had a lot on their mind. "I need a drink. Want anything?"
Sunwoo scoffed lightly, before shrugging. "If you're offering, I guess."
She returned with drinks and snacks, throwing them onto the boys lap as he looked over at her. "Thanks."
Another hour and the boy's knee bounced continuously, his teeth constantly at his finger nails. Hana wanted so badly to ask what was wrong, but there was no use in asking what she already knew. "Everything will be fine, you know?"
"How do you know?" Sunwoo asked quietly, shaking his head.
"I have faith," Hana shrugged, leaning back in the uncomfortable seat. "Your mother, she's strong."
The red haired boy smiled a little, that she was. He guessed that her mother must have told her the news.
"She must be if she raised you," the girl joked, earning something of a chuckle from the boy.
"I'll give you that one," he nodded. "Since I'm too upset and tired to argue."
And so they didn't argue, for once. The silence felt somewhat comfortable between them, neither anticipating the next passive comment or argument that they'd start.
On the flight, the two got comfortable in their seats. Sunwoo was the first to fall asleep, maybe that was because Hana offered him the window seat out of pity.
Hana preferred him this way, quiet and slumber. He was much prettier when he wasn't talking.
After that, she fell asleep too, although her slight snoring was enough to wake up the light sleeper beside her. "Was I drooling?"
"Yeah, it was disgusting," Sunwoo nodded. "And you snore. Could you get any worse?"
With that, the girl widened her knees and placed her elbow upon his rest, knocking them off the chair. "I don't know, could I?"
"Probably," he said annoyingly. But when she sat in silence and closed her eyes again, he felt bad. He didn't know why, or maybe he did. "Hana?"
"Hmm?" She hummed, her eyes still closed.
"Changmin really did like you," Sunwoo nodded. "He just wished you never broke his heart."
