Hauwa's POV
As cleaning the house and taking care of the kids had become a norm for me on a normal day, that was what I spent most of my day doing.
I had put the twins in the living room to play with their toys while I took care of Yaseer and I's room.
That guy called my husband was so bad at keeping things organised.
Before ascending up the stairs, I took slow and small steps to see if any of the twins were going to cry or throw a tantrum.
Luckily, they didn't cry so I was free to go upstairs.
As I pulled off the bedsheet and duvet that was due for washing from our bed, my phone beeped.
I looked at it as it vibrated lightly on the nightstand opposite me.
I countined to pull the bedsheet.
Another beep followed.
I threw the bedsheet in frustration and walked to grab my mobile.
"Who is this person that's disturbing me?"I muttered as I unlocked my phone.
It was a message from an unknown number.
A big confused look crept on my face as I read the message.
What was happening?
I immediately left the chat and removed it from the recently opened apps before sliding the phone back on the nightstand.
I took in deep breaths and just tried to shove the negative thoughts that were already flying through my mind.
Another beep from my phone made me grab it again.
This time, I just rolled my eyes and continued what I was doing after opening the message.
The person was probably playing a prank or texting the wrong number.
Who knows.
But I wasn't believing any of those messages.Safiya's POV
Umma had sent me on an errand to go and buy some groceries.
The store was just a five munutes walk from our house.
Once I was done buying what I was told to buy, I stared to head back home.
"Da Gaske?really?" The farmilar voice spoke.
It was a male voice and I was certain that i knew the owner of the voice, but who?
I countined to walk. I was halfway to our house when I saw ...
OMAR!
That boy!
Shivers travelled through my spine.
It felt as though a bucket of iced-water was dunked over my head.
We fortunately didn't make eye contact.
"Oh Lord please don't let him see me." I prayed as I picked up my pace.
I tried as much as possible not to look back or look scared.
Omar had left my school few months back.
He's one of the scariest person I've met on planet earth.
What was he doing around the estate?
Why was he here?
Did he come back for me?
I kept on reciting my adhkar till I got home.
I didn't want any more drama in my life again.Hauwa's POV
I was slummed on the sofa like a lazy toddler.
My body was so exhausted after so much work, so I needed rest.
I was scrolling through my social media when the front bell rang.
After sluggishly sliding my feet into my slippers, I headed to the door.
I looked through the peep hole.
It was Amar; Yaseer's cousin.
I unlocked the door.
He looked like he was going to an official meeting and just stopped by to say hi.
"Salamu alaikum Amar." I smiled as he walked in.
"Walaikumu Salam, Dear." he flashed me a genuine smile.
I walked him to the sitting room where he made himself comfortable.
"Would you like anything? Tea, juice or a drink..." I offered.
"Water would do." He replied.
I just nodded my head and went to get his water.
When I returned, I gave him the water and settled down on the couch adjacent to the one he was sitting on.
Amar took a sip of the water and dropped it on the side stool.
"So how are the kids?"Amar started the conversation.
"They are good, but I also need someone to take care of me too coz they really stress me out." I giggled lightly.
Amar chuckled at my joke.
"Hauwa come home with me." Amar blurted out as he looked straight into my eyes.
I was confused.
I didn't get the joke.
"What do I say? I've never heard of this joke before." I chuckled.
There was a milisecond of silence.
"It's not a joke. I want to spend the rest of my life with you Hauwa."
I was dumbfounded.
Was he rehersing a drama or something?
"Amar, I am married, how can you say such an indecent thing?" I finally replied.
Amar looked up and stared deep into my eyes.
"Why did you accept my present then?"His voice was super soft.
Present?
"What pre..."He cut me short.
"The bracelet on your wrist."Amar pointed to my hand.
I looked down at my bracelet before saying "You gave me as a birthday present."
Amar smiled.
"It has the letters A&H. Hauwa,we are meant for each other."
I rose up.
"Amar, leave my house! Leave!"I pointed to the door.
Amar got up and walked to me. He didn't say anything.
He just grabbed my hand and started to pull me to the door.
I resisted and pulled myself back.
"What is wrong with you Amar?!" I was at the break of tears.
Why was he acting like a beast?
"I love you and I know you also feel the same. Let's get married."
I finally broke free and immediately fell to my knees.
Amar turned around to me.
Hot tears were now streaming down my cheeks.
"Please don't cry. I don't want to see you this way, let's just get married." He squatted down to my level.
I raised my head and looked in his eyes.
"Why are you doing this?"
"It's all for you baby. Living with Yaseer is making you go through hell."He replied as he was about to hug me.
"Baby girl I'm...." The front door sled open revealing Yaseer.
My eyes widened.
Amar turned back upon seeing my facial reaction.
"Oh,Don't worry,he won't do anything. I've spoken to him already."Amar turned back to me.
After Amar's statement, Yaseer didn't hesitate to punch his cousin behind his head.
Amar let out a groan of pain as he held the back of his head.
Yaseer pulled Amar up and slapped him severally.
"DIDN'T I TELL YOU TO BACK OFF?! huh? Didn't I?" Yaseer's voice deepened.
I just sat there unable to speak a word.
I just allowed the tears roll uncontrolablly from my eyes.
Amar laughed.
"We knew ourselves before she knew you Yaseer!" Amar spat angrily.
Amar got free from Yaseer's hold.
"I promise you that we'll get married! " Amar pointed at Yaseer.
I saw as Yaseer's breathing increased. He was really fuming.
"She lost her baby! She got raped! and she lost her memory! What else are you going to allow to happen
to her next?! huh?You were supposed to look after her . She was your responsibilty, but you didn't fufill your duties and you expect me to stay silent and watch her suffer?"
"Why don't you mind your freaking business?!" Yaseer pushed Amar's chest."Why do you love meddling in other's business?"
Amar pushed Yaseer back.
"This is my business coz it involves someone that I love!" Amar backed Yaseer.
"She's coming with me."Amar held my hand to help me get up.
"Get the FUCK away from my wife!" Yaseer pounced on Amar and started punching him endlessly.
It was like I was in a horror movie.
Amar laid on the floor with blood oozing from his nose and bruises on his face trying to fight back with Yaseer over him.
"STOP IT! You two just stop it already!" Tears were still rolling down from my eyes.
Yaseer paused and the two men stared at me as if waiting for me to give my next command.
I just shook my head in disappointment and ran up the stairs like cinderella.
I didn't want any noise or disturbance.
I needed to process all that had happened, because it all happened so fast.
*****Thank You so much for joining Hauwa and Yaseer on their bumpy and sour-sweet journey as a married couple.
So I shipped Hauwa with Amar to give Amuwa, and Hauwa with Yaseer to give Hauseer.
So what team are you?
Are you team Amuwa or Hauseer?
Let me know in the comment section.
