Haya's POV

As Safiya and I made food for my husband's arrival, my phone rang.
I wiped my wet hands on the near by napkin before answering the call.
I looked at the caller, and it was my husband.
"Hello."I said.
"Hello,"a voice which sounded nothing like my husband's spoke. "Please is this Mrs Inuwa?" He asked.
I was confused..
Why was someone else with his phone?
"Yes."I replied as I walked out of the kitchen with Safiya trailing behind me.
The man exhaled heavily before talking...
The exhale from the other end made me hold my breath, my instincts told me he was about to tell me a bad new.
"Well, ma'am,  there was a serious accident,"he paused and I started feeling anxious. "And your husband was one of the victims in the accident, he just passed away seconds ago..."I cut him short with screams.
" You are mistaken, my husband is on his way home, we just spoke so minutes ago, it can't be."I told him.
"No ma'am, I am serious, Mr Hanif Inuwa just passed away, I am not joking ma."I heard him say as the phone slipped out of my hand and I fell straight on my knees.
"Umma what happened?"Safiya came to where I knelt.
"Why me, I know Hanif is coming back, he is on his way,"I cried and wiped the tears. "He can not be dead, we just spoke, he can't just leave me, Haba..."I acted as if I was mentally unstable.
When I didn't give Safiya an answer, she picked up the phone from the rug I was kneeling on.
"Hello."she held the phone to her ear.
She was silent for few seconds.. While I kept on insisting that Hanif was on his way home.
My little daughter threw the phone and ran up the stairs with tears pouring profusely from her eyes which reminded me of her father, my beloved husband.

Hauwa's POV

Yaseer had started reminding me of little about my past, and I was also attending my therapy appointment and going for weekly check ups on my unborn child.
I couldn't remember anything apart from when I became Yaseer's wife and we started living together.
Yaseer told me I had a baby before but lost it, he said it was a miscarriage,.. I couldn't remember that though
He also told me I had an elder brother named, Amir and a little sister, Safiya.
I wish I could remember my past...
How I lost my memory, I have no idea...
It was just like I was born married to Yaseer.
Yaay, my birthday was in a day time, I was so excited... Even though I didn't know what age I was turning.
"You'll be 20,tommorow baby girl, InshAllah."Yaseer cupped my face in his hands and kissed my forehead after I asked him how old I was going to be.
I just nodded.

Yaseer's POV

I had sent police to the area which the blackmailer had said I should come to weeks before.

As I searched for my mother in-law's number, her name just popped out on the screen.
I was going to tell her that i'd be sending Hauwa over for some weeks.
"Hello Yaseer."Safiya's voice spoke in a shaky tone.
"What is wrong,Safiya? Are you alright?"
"Yaseer, Yaseer..."was what she kept uttering.
"Safiya, talk, what happened?"I stood up from my seat.
"Yaseer, baba.. Baba... He, he.."she started crying this time.
"Stop crying Safiya, what happened to baba? Where is your mother?"I couldn't put together what she was saying.
She tried to control her tears, then said still with a shaky voice. "He's dead."she continued to cry
"What?! Dead? How? When? Where?you know what, I am coming there right now."I grabbed my keys then told Hauwa to get in the car before driving to my in-laws house.

...

"What happened?"I sat next to my mother in-law who was crying for almost three minutes since I arrived.
She didn't answer me, all she did was cry, her once light brown glowing eyes were now red and sore, tears which had dried up made some marks on her face, the woman whom all I saw her do all day was smile, was now looking all ruined and sad.

Safiya had locked herself up in her room, when I went up to meet her, I heard sniffles as I approached her door with few sentences pouring from her mouth.
"I know Omar is behind this, I know."I heard her smash something.
I knocked on the door lightly, but she didn't answer all she said was "go away, I won't come out till baba returns."then she continued to cry.

Knowing that she loved chocolates to the moon and back, I always had a chocolate bar with me
anytime I went to their house.
"Saffy,"was the nickname I gave her. "I have some snicker chocolate with me, come out and i'll give you all."I placed my ear on the door.
"Go away, I don't want anything, not even chocolates, I just want my baba."she sniffed.
I was out of ways to persuade her to come out, so I just put the chocolate in front the door and went downstairs.
When I got there, Hauwa had already calmed her mother down, she was no longer crying.
She was just so good at stopping one from feeling depressed or sad, that was one of the things I loved her for.
"I love you."Haya hugged my wifey.
Without them noticing my presence, I just cleared my throat gaining their attention.
"Safiya refused to  come out of her room."I settled down on one of the couches.
And that was when I saw little tears gather in Mrs Inuwa's eyes.
"Don't cry."Hauwa said as she noticed her mum's eyes.
