Safiya's POV

It was the fourth time in two days Haya had thrown up.
She had been running temperature.
Her face was pale.
She had lost so much weight in such a short period.
Safiya was scared that she was going to lose her precious mother too.

Each time she decided to call Hauwa, Haya would tell me not to.
"Hauwa has her own family to look after, that's enough pressure on her."she would always say.

This time, Safiya finally decided to inform Hauwa without her mum's consent.
There was something at the back of her head saying she would lose Haya too if she didn't call Hauwa.

After the third ring, Hauwa picked the call.
"Hello Umma." She said.
"No, it's me Safiya." Safiya spoke in a rather mellow tone.
"Is everything fine? Why are you whispering?"
"Sis, Umma has been ill for quite a while now. Each time I try to call to inform you, she tells me not to."
Safiya paused.
"I don't know what's wrong with her, but she sure doesn't look like she's doing good. I really don't want to lose her too Hauwa." The thought of Umma dieing still revolved around Safiya's head.
What would she do with her life if her only support died?

"Okay. I'll be over as soon as possible. Don't tell her that I'll be coming, okay?" Hauwa replied.
"Mhm."Safiya said back.
"Take good care of yourself and Umma before I arrive. See you soon."And she hung up.
Why was I having only negative thoughts?
No! Umma won't die. She'll stay with me forever.
Safiya tried her best to look at the positive part and stay calm until my sister arrived.

...

Few minutes later the doorbell rang.
Safiya hurried to the front door hoping it was her sister because Haya wasn't looking any better.
Sh swung the door open and thankfully it was Hauwa.
She was dressed in a simple black cotton dress with a black veil on her head and over her shoulder.
The twins were peacefully asleep in their stroller.
"Salam." Safiya helped her sister troll the stroller into the house.
"Where's umma?" Hauwa questioned after responding to her sister's greeting.
"She's asleep." Safiya replied almost immediately.

A genuine smile crept on Safiya's face as I stared at her older sister.
She looked even more beautiful than before.

MashaAllah

Safiya couldn't help but silently make du'a for Hauwa as she had always been there for them even though she was married.

...

As the meeting continued, a striking headache hit the back of Yaseer's head without hesitation.
He bowed his head on the table and placed his hand behind his head.
It was as though he had been hit with a hard rock.
The pain would slowly disappear and suddenly hit him again.
This time the headache had moved to the front of his head.
He couldn't focus on what was being discussed at the meeting.

It's alright

He tried as much as possible to withstand the pain but it was getting worse every second.
He began to grown weaker and weaker until he finally collapsed.

"Mr Gumell...Yaseer." members of the meeting tried reviving him.
His breath weakened.

"Call an ambulance." One suggested.
"That'll take long. Let's join hands and take him to the hospital in my car."another suggest.

Yaseer was carefully lifted and placed on the back of the man who suggested they use his car.
He hurriedly carried Yaseer to his car with a few others trailing behind him.

Once they were in the car, the man turned on the ignition and set off for the hospital.

...

Hello people,
It's been a while indeed and I'm truely sorry for that.

I would love to bring to your notice that the story would no longer be in first person's POV.
I'll be converting it to third person's POV because it's more convenient to work with.

The changes would be done to  other parts of the story during re-edit InshaAllah 👌

With all that said, do have a lovely day.
