As Sam and Nova was sitting at the table eating, Dean was going through the phones in a small box, listening to old messages. He all of a sudden just stared at Sam and Nova.

"What?" They both questioned looking back at him.

He then unplugged the earbuds and let them hear the messages left by Kevin. Sam walked over towards Dean as he played them. Kevin had left 5 messages talking about how he escaped Crowley and not knowing if Sam was alive or dead.

Dean stood up, "He was our responsibility. And you couldn't answer the damn phone." He tossed the phone to Sam, "And I get it, you guys experienced something horrible but so did that kid and he needed your help too."

"We're sorry Dean." Nova sighed.

"I'm not the one that needs the apology." Then he walked away with a head shake.

Nova sighed again and cleaned up the dishes from dinner.

Later she decided to pull out her laptop and listen to the last voicemail again.

"Hey listen to Kevin's last voicemail. Listen to the background." She then played the voicemail again, this time louder. "Y'all hear that?"

"What is it?" Dean asked from the couch.

"Sounds like he was on a bus. Nova play it again and make it where the background is louder."

She nods and clicks a few buttons then plays it again. This time you hear a woman mentioning Centreville.

"Centreville?" Dean gets up and comes over to her.

"Centreville, where?"

"Michigan." Sam spoke up.

"And Why would Kevin be in Centreville Michigan?"

"Because of his high school girl friend. She goes to college there." Nova brings up her social media account and shows them.

"It's the best lead we got."

"We?" Dean raised an eyebrow.

"You were right. He was our responsibility. So let's find him. Okay?" Sam sighs.

Dean finally agrees and so they pack up to head out. Sam tosses the keys to Dean and after he checks out the car they get in. But Dean just looks around confused.

"What's wrong?" Nova questioned as Dean looked in the backseat.

"Does it smell like dog to you?"

"In the car?"

"You tell me." Dean looked sternly at Sam.

"Hmm." Sam shrugged as Nova shook her head.

As Dean drove away from the cabin, Sam and Nova just looked at each other. They in fact did have a dog in there not too long ago because Sam was letting Nova drive the Impala and she accidentally hit a dog. They brought it back home and nursed it back to health as they searched for the owner, which they did find after a few weeks of caring for the dog.

When they got to the hotel Dean wanted to get some snacks but as he stood at the vending machine he just stared as Sam and Nova went into the room.

Dean came in and sat on the edge of the bed, he rubbed his hands down his face and just looked around the room. Nova, who had laid down on the other bed noticed him and sat up as Sam walked out of the bathroom.

"You okay?" Sam asked what Nova was getting ready to ask.

"Yeah." Dean clapped his hands together, "Yeah, hey, what do you say we blow this joint, hit the road?"

"Now?"

"Yeah, Kevin's not getting any more found."

"The kid survived a year without us." Sam chuckled lightly, "He'll be okay for another 12 hours. Besides when's the last time you slept?"

"Hmm."

"What?"

"Nothing, is that how you rationalized taking a year off? People will be okay?" Dean smacked the air.

"People were okay Dean. You're okay. Nova's finally okay."

"Wow." Dean chuckles.

"Here we go again." Nova said under her breath.

"Look, I did what we promised we'd do. I moved on with my life."

"Great, no, I'm getting that."

"Look, it wasn't like I was oblivious. I mean I read the paper every day. I saw the...weird stories, the kind of stuff we used to chase."

Dean scoffed, "And you said what? Not my problem?"

"Yeah, because I was worried about other things. And you know what? The world went on."

"People died, Sam."

"People always die. Hell-"

"I almost died Dean!" Nova blurted out cutting Sam off, "What don't you understand about that?"

"Oh I understand, but what about when you got better huh?"

"Because I had been in therapy until a month or so ago." She said lowly looking down at her hands then looked back at Dean with glossy eyes. , "And trust me, I've tried to get Sam to still do hunting."

"But I couldn't do it without you. Because for the first time in my life I was able to be normal. To have a normal relationship." He said as he looked at Dean.

It was silent for a little while then Nova breaks the silence, "So uh what about you Dean."

"What about me?"

"Look at you. You still got that look. You're shaky, you're on edge. What was it like?"

Dean scoffs and turns away from them. They didn't think he was going to talk but then he spoke up.

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you."

"Try us." Sam shrugged.

Nova moved to sit on the edge of the bed behind Dean, who was on the floor, and rubbed his shoulders. But as she did that he tense up but then relaxed.

He looks up at her then straight ahead as he began to talk. Telling them that it was bloody and messy. He also mentioned how it was so much nasty that most days it felt like 360 degrees combat. As he talked Nova kept rubbing his shoulders. He even said some times it just all felt so pure.

Nova kissed the side of his head but kept her face close to his ear and said softly, "Well everything's better now. You don't have to deal with that crap anymore. I love you Dean. Granted not like I love Sam but still,I wasn't lying when I had told you, that you are my best friend." She then leaned back up.

He smirks as he lays his head back to look up at her, "I know. And I'm sorry for being an ass." He taps his hand on hers.

"It's all forgiven." She kissed his forehead.
