Chapter 7

By later that night Sam and Nova came back to the hotel but there was still no sign of Dean.

"I hope he's okay." Nova frowned slightly.

"Yeah me too." Sam nodded.

Nova then tried calling Dean on his phone but wasn't having any luck. After a few minutes Dean finally called back so Sam answered it and put it on speaker.

"Hey."

"Okay what?"

"What?"

"Why did you call me."

"Why are you whispering?"

"It's kinda hard to explain but I'm sorta of in the middle of cleaning out a vampires nest. And it's sort of went a little sideways on me."

"Seriously Dean?!"

As Nova spoke so did Sam.

"What?! Are you an idiot Dean? You know better to go into a vamp nest alone."

"I'm not alone Damnit. All right? I'm not alone. I've got back up. Guy who's been tracking the nest for a while."

"What guy? Garth?"

"What? No. You don't know him. He's a friend."

"A friend? Dean, you don't have any-- all your friends are dead."

"Gee thanks Sam." Nova rolled her eyes which he just gave her a sorry look.

"That's not what I called to talk about."

"I get the separate lives thing, but this is a hunting thing and we need to find that line-"

"Oh my God stop talking. I texted you my 20." He grumbled making Nova smirk at the tone of his voice.

"Yeah I got it. I'm on my way. And listen if you handle it great. I'll buy your friend the first round. But Dean listen to me. Dean?"

"Dean, sweetie are you there?" Nova gave Sam a worried look.

Sam kept calling out Dean's name but he wasn't answering. All of a sudden the phone went dead.

"Damn it!" Sam yelled and tossed his phone.

Nova flinched because it hit her in the leg, "Ooww!" She groaned and rubbed the spot the phone hit.

"Shit, sorry baby, just Dean can be so aggravating."

"It's okay." She sighs, "Do you think maybe he did this without you because of the fact that you haven't been doing it in almost a year?"

"I don't know, maybe." Sam shrugs as they gather their things.

"How are we getting there?"

"Taking a car."

She nods then they walk out, Nova points to a yellow car so Sam pops the lock then they jump in and take off. He tries calling Dean again but has no luck and tosses the phone into her lap.

Nova happen to notice he was going close to 100 mph and her eyes went wide, "Sam! Slow down." She balled her hands into fists in her lap.

"We have to get there quick Nova. Dean might be in Trouble."

"Yes, I want to get there quick too but I want to get there safe also! So please!"

He slows down, "Fine! We're almost there anyways."

She let's out a breath that she didn't realize she was holding. "Thank you."

When they got there both of them went to the dock to wait for Dean. When him and his friend rolled in Dean tossed the rope to Sam, who tied it to one of the posts, then Dean tossed their bags out of the boat onto the dock.

Dean and Benny climbed out and walked over to both Sam and Nova.

"Wow." Nova mouthed to herself, noticing how cute Benny was.

"I'm Benny." He shook Sam's hand. "Heard a lot about you Sam." He then looks at Nova, "And you must be the lovely Miss Nova."

Sam gave Dean a hard look as Nova smiled at Benny, "The one and only."

Sam started for his knife as he stared at his brother and Dean just shook his head slowly. Nova quickly put her hand on Sam as she looked at him.

"Sam, no. What are you doing?"

Sam just ignored her as him and Benny let go of each other's hand.

"I can see you guys have a lot to talk about." Benny looked between them.

"Yeah." Dean mouthed with a nod and Benny picked up his bags.

"I'll be seeing you." He patted Dean on the shoulder and walked away.

Sam just glared at Dean while Nova looked confused as to what was going on. They then walked back the car.

"So we going to talk about what happened back there?" Nova asked as she placed her elbows on the back of the front seat.

"Later, not tonight anyways. I'm exhausted." Dean sighed and Nova leaned back.

"Ugh can we at least put on some music or something? I'm hating this silence right now." Nova rolled her eyes.

"Yeah." Dean nodded and turned on the radio.

"Thank you."

The song 'Can't fight this feeling anymore' by REO Speedwagon was playing and Dean started to shut it off but Nova had started singing along with it so he left it playing.

"Cause I can't fight this feeling anymore. I've forgotten what I started fighting for. And if it have to crawl upon the floor. Come crashing through your door. Baby, I can't fight this feeling anymore. "

As Nova sang the chorus she glanced in the rearview mirror and seen Dean glancing back at her with a smirk on his face so she smiled.

"What?" She mouthed, the smile still on her face.

He just smiled and shook his head looking back at the road.

She continued to sing softly as she noticed Sam was asleep. Nova licked her lips as she scooted behind Dean then whispered in his left ear.

"I want to thank you. I don't know where I'd be right now if it weren't for you guys. You two are the only thing closest to family I have left."

"We're happy to have you with us. And you don't have to thank me nor Sam. You're an amazing person. There's been multiple times you've been a great help." He was speaking in the same tone as her.

"I figured I might as well make myself useful."

"Well I love that you are." He smiles.

He turned his head to kiss her check but accidentally kissed her lips. Nova knew she should have pulled away but there was something that was keeping her from doing so. They both came to their senses though and pulled away.

"Sorry." Both of them whispered quickly.

As she sat back she noticed Sam was asleep so she let out a quiet sigh hoping he actually was asleep and didn't notice what just happened. She just stared out the window not knowing what to say or do. She knew she shouldn't have liked the kiss but truth was she actually did like it.
