Over the next year Sam and Nova decided not to hunt. They wanted to just live a normal life as much as they could since they only had each other because all their other family was dead.

Like a normal couple they had their ups and downs, some of it almost broke them apart but the strength of each other kept them together.

They decided to get away from the city a visit an old cabin they haven't been to in months. Sam went in first to make sure everything was clear but when he got in there he was attacked by Dean.

When Nova walked up to the door she heard Sam talking to someone, she opened the door "Babe, who are you-" she stepped inside, "Dean?!" She quickly gave him a hug, "I've missed you so much!"

He hugs her back, "Hey Nova, miss you too."

"Wait, where you been?"

"Purgatory, that's where standing to close to exploding Dick got me."

"Holy shit."

"So uh, did you know half of your guys numbers are out of service?" Dean got them all a beer and sat at the table.

"Yeah, I- we didn't get your messages."

"How come?" Dean popped open the beers.

"Probably because I ditched the phones."

"Because?"

"I guess because um, something happened to us this year too. We don't hunt anymore." Nova told him.

At first Dean thought they were joking but then realized they were serious.

"Yeah, yeah, you were gone Dean. Cass was gone. Bobby was dead. I mean Crowley even shipped off Kevin and Meg to parts unknown. Nova and me only had each other."

"So you turned tail on the family business."

"Nothing says family quite like almost all of your family being dead."

"I wasn't dead." Dean stood up, "In fact I was knee deep in God's armpit killing monsters.  Which I thought is what we actually do. Is this your fault?" He points to Nova.

"No Dean, this isn't her fault. It was a mutual agreement. But as far as I knew, what we do is the thing that got almost every single member of my family killed. I only had Nova, Dean. So I fixed the Impala and we just drove."

"After you looked for me. You did look for me right?" Dean asked but they didn't say anything. "Good. That's good. Now, we, we always told each other not to look each other. That's smart. Good for you. Of course, we always ignored that because of our deep abiding love for each other, but not this time right Sammy? Because this time you had Nova to keep you company."

"Seriously Dean?" Nova grumbled, and punched Dean in the face, "Fuck you, asshat! So it was okay for you to live a normal life for a year but not Sam?! We did try to hunt! But we stopped and you want to know why?! Because we had a health scare!" As she was yelling tears fell down her face, "I found out I was pregnant and then I ended up in the hospital thinking I was dying and then I miscarried." She sobbed, "The pain of it all almost made Sam and me push each other away but knowing we had to get through this together is what kept us together. So fuck you thinking this was all my fault. " She started to push Dean but Sam wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her back.

"Hey, hey shh." Sam made her turn around and he wrapped his arms around her.

"I'm.. I'm sorry." Dean then walked out of the cabin.

"I'm sorry I punched him Sam, I know he's you're brother but it's just, him blaming me, made old feelings pop up when I was blaming myself for-"

Sam cut her off, "Shh, no need to apologize for that to me. And we don't have to talk about what happened. We got through it, it made us stronger as a couple and as individuals. But hey. " He made her look at him and wiped the tears from her eyes and cheeks, "He didn't know since he's been gone."

"I should probably go apologize to him huh?"

"Later, let things cool down a bit. You're both angry, him because I didn't search for him, and now because of what you told him. And you're upset because him just assuming things and what happened between us."

She nodded and stifled, "You're right."

Later that evening Nova cooked some chili, she asked Dean if he wanted some and he told her he didn't. She got her and Sam some then sat down but he nudged her and motioned his head towards Dean.

"Now's the time." He mouthed to her.

She looked towards Dean, nodded then got up and walked up behind him. "How's the eye?" She asked as she leaned on the back of the couch by him.

"I'm fine."

She sighed as she climbed over the back of the couch and sat down next to him, "Look Dean, I'm sorry for punching you."

"It's all good."

She sighed, grabbed his hand and kissed the back of it, "Please don't hate me, you're my best friend Dean. And it would kill me to know my best friend is alive and hates my guts now. I didn't mean to punch you, I just got so angry because... because what you were saying brought back memories of me blaming myself." She blinked back tears.

He looks at her, "I don't hate you Nova. I was just angry because I thought Sam just gave up without trying. I fought for my life down there while you two were up here. And you were right, I shouldn't have gotten angry for him trying to live a normal life when I did the same thing with... Lisa and Ben. I'm angry because I missed out on so much stuff. So is it true? You guys tried hunting and got out because of health scare?"

Nova nodded as she turned facing him more, "We did nothing for a couple months after you were gone. Then hunted a few monsters, then Sam and me got into this huge fight over me being 5 1/2 months pregnant and I left before things got worse between us. And I shouldn't have been driving when I was upset because I got into this really bad crash in my car. I almost died because of it. I had to be on a ventilator for almost a week. And worse off all I killed our baby by wrecking because my body couldn't handle the pregnancy and the injuries I substained." She wiped the tears from her cheeks but it was no use as more fell, "I blamed myself for months. I even tried pushing Sammy out the door telling him he didn't need a fuck-up like me in it. I told him to go on without me, do hunting or something but he wouldn't. He didn't leave my side, no matter how hard I tried to convince him otherwise. But in the long run he's what made me stronger. Having each other through all that made us both stronger. Got us through it all. Honestly, If I didn't have him I wouldn't even be here today, I would have just ended it all because I truly felt like I was a fuck-up." By the time she was done talking Dean had wrapped her in his arms.

"Im...I'm sorry Nova." He breathed out as he rubbed the back of her head.

"Me too." She said into the crook of his neck.

"And you're not a fuck-up Nova, don't ever think that way again." He told her and she just lightly nodded.
