Chapter 21

Nova hated the fact that Sam had to take a ticket to hell to rescue an innocent soul but she knew it was for a good cause. She was sitting there staring at the ground when Dean crouched down in front of her and made her look at him.

"He'll come back I promise."

"How do you know though? Maybe this won't work and he'll be stuck down there." She sighs.

"We just have to think positive. Since Ajay is dead I called in another favor from someone."

"Who?"

"Benny, want to go with me to talk to him about it?"

"Sure." She nodded.

They then went to the location Dean and Benny agreed to meet.

"Hey Benny." Nova smiles.

"Why hello..Nova right?" Nova nodded, "Fancy seeing you again."

"You too Benny."

"So." Dean cleared his throat, "We need your help with Sam."

Dean then explained everything, about the trials, how this one Sam had to go to Hell to rescue an innocent soul but found out to get there, he had to go through purgatory and that his ticket back ended up dead. And that they needed Benny to help him get back like he helped Dean get back topside.

"If you want nothing to do with this, I completely understand."

Benny whistles, "Wow. When Dean Winchester asks for a favor, he's not screwing around." He chuckled.

"Benny, sending you back there is the last thing I ever wanted to do."

"I know. I know."

"But my little brother is stuck down there."

"This would be the little brother who wants to kill me, right?"

"Only cause that's what he grew up to do Benny." Nova mentioned.

Dean placed his hand on her arm then said, "You got access to the place."

"By access you mean getting beheaded."

Dean's voice broke as he talked, "Yeah, you're right. It's too much. It's not like I've exactly been there for you lately."

"What? Oh come on Dean. You know I love a challenge. But I'll do it under one condition. You guys let me kiss this beautiful girl."

"You serious?" Dean just looked at him while Nova's eyes went wide.

Benny shook his head, "Nah I'm Messing with you guys. I'll do it regardless because he's your brother and the love of her life. I say let's do this."

"I owe you. We both owe you."

"Oh you guys don't owe me nothing. Truth is, I could use a break from all of this."

"It's really been that tough?"

"I'm not a good fit Dean. Not with the vampires and for sure not with the humans. I don't belong. And after a while it starts to wear on you." He chuckled, "Right? Cry me a river. Like you need to listen to this."

"We don't mind." Nova shrugs with a small smile.

"Well, when you get back up here, we're gonna fix all that okay?"

"When I get back?"

"Yeah, you find the portal and you ride out of purgatory with Sam just like you did with me okay? As soon as I send you back I'm gonna haul my ass up to Maine and I'm gonna be waiting there for you when you get topside."
