Sam was laying in a hospital bed in a coma from doing half of the last trial. The doctor has already came in and explained his condition, which wasn't good. The MRI they did had showed massive internal burns that was affecting many of his organs and that he had been deprived of oxygen to his brain. That if his body continued going down the path it was that the machines would be the only thing keeping him alive.

"So there's no recovery? I mean there's no bounce back? There's no nothing."

"I'm afraid that's in God's hands now."

"You're a doctor. You're a medical professional. You're trying to tell me that my brothers life is in God's hands? What, is that supposed to be a-a comfort?" When he was talking Nova went and stood in front of him with her hands on his chest.

"Dean, sweetie." Nova said but he ignored her and kept on.

"No, God has nothing to do with this equation at all."

"I didn't mean-" The doctor started but got cut off by Dean.

"That's not good enough."

"Dean, sweetie, calm down." Nova rubbed her hand back and forth on his chest.

With that Dean walked out of the room.

"I didn't mean to offend him."

"He's just upset, we both are. But also why he got so mad is because of the shit we've been through." She shrugged and walked back over to Sam.

"I'm sorry again." The doctor said and walked out.

When Dean came back later he looked at Nova, "I'm sorry you had to see my outburst."

She walked over and wrapped her arms around his waist and he wrapped his arms around her shoulders,

"Don't be, we're both upset and worried about him."

"Yeah." He breaths out as he rubbed his hand down the back of her head as he rests his head against hers.

Nova refused to leave Sam's side despite Dean trying to get her to at least eat something. When a grief counselor came in they refused to talk to her because Sam wasn't technically dead and they were convinced he wasn't going to.

"Please Sam, if you can hear me, you've got to wake up baby. You've got to pull through, I can't lose you again." She sniffled as she interlocked her fingers with his. She stood up and leaned over him, "I love you so much." Then lightly kissed his lips and sat back down in the chair beside his bed.

When Dean walked in with a guy, who said he was Ezekiel, he introduced him to Nova. Dean explained to her why he was there then Ezekiel put his hand on Sam's chest to use his power to check out Sam.

All of a sudden the hospital started rumbling and Ezekiel warned them about angels coming so Dean and Nova went to work putting sigils all over the walls and windows so no others can get in the room.

"Nova, you need to leave. It'll be safer for you."

"No, Dean, I'm not leaving." She shook her head.

He groaned knowing he wouldn't make her change her mind then told them not to open the door for anyone but him.

When Dean can back his face was all messed up so Nova rushed to him.

"Dean! What happened? Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, I promise. It's nothing I couldn't handle." He then looks at Sam and the monitor, "What the hells happening?"

"This just started." Ezekiel told him. "And the warding. I'm afraid I'm weaker than I thought."

Dean quickly started putting lines through the sigils.

"I am sorry Dean." Ezekiel sighed.

"No, no, no. No, we had a deal okay? I fight, you save."

"And would that I could. I'm afraid it's too late."

"Are you kidding me?"

"This can't be happening." Nova mumbled.

"Are you saying there's no way to save my brothers life?"

"In good ways, yes."

"Well, what are the bad ones? We're out of options here man, good or bad. Let us hear them."

"I cannot promise but there is a chance I can fix your brother... from the inside."

"From the inside? What do you mean?" Nova furrowed her eyebrows together.

"What, are you gonna open him up?" When Ezekiel shook his head Dean continued, "What, possession? You want to possess Sam?"

"I told you, no way. Understood, it's your call."

"No, it's Sam's call."

"But Dean." Nova pleaded.

"There's no way in hell he'd say yes." He looked at her. "To be possessed by anything."

"He would rather die." Ezekiel sighed, got up and made the machines shut off, "I'll leave you guys alone then."

Nova grabbed Dean's jacket and pleaded, "Dean, no, we've got to save him please!" She looked at him as tears rolled down her face.

Dean looked at her then back at Sam, "Wait." He said stopping Ezekiel from walking out. "If I consider this. And I mean just consider it, I need something man. You got to prove to me just how bad he is."

Ezekiel walked back over and placed his hand on Sam's forehead, "Close your eyes." He then placed his hand on Dean's forehead.

Once they were done Ezekiel removed his hands.

"What are you doing Sam?" Dean questioned lowly.

"What- what did you see?" Nova sniffled.

"He's, he's talking to death himself." Dean said lowly.

"Oh no, no Sam please no." Nova cried as she put her head on Sam's chest.

"As you can see, there's not much time." Ezekiel said.

"I know. Damn it, I know."

"How will it work?" Dean wondered out loud.

"Mutual benefit I suppose. I heal Sam, while healing myself."

"And when he's healed?"

Nova wanted to talk also but she was too upset to say anything.

"I leave. It's the best of a bad situation Dean."

"Even if I said yes, doesn't mean squat."

"But Dean." Nova mustered out.

"Sam will never yes, not to him." He told her.

"But he will say yes to you, and I gather he would say yes to her." Ezekiel said to Dean then had motioned his head towards Nova.

They then got to work saving Sam. Ezekiel got into Sam's head as Dean and got him to pretty much say yes then possessed him and they left the hospital. As they were leaving Ezekiel let them know that when Sam's soul wakes up he won't feel him inside. That there's no reason to know he's in there. He even mentioned that if Sam doesn't understand and rejects Ezekiel being in there that it could kill him

They agreed to keep it a secret as long as they can, until at least Sam is well enough the he doesn't need Ezekiel in there.

As they were in the Impala Sam woke up.

"Where are we?" He grumbled.

"Whoa!" Dean glanced at him, "Sam?"

Sam looked at him confused, "What?"

"Okay, take- take it easy."

Nova quickly raised up, wrapped her arms around Sam's chest and rest her hand on his chest, "How are you feeling baby?" She asked softly as she gently rubbed her hand up and down.

He readjusted and laid his head against her, "Tired. Like I, like I slept for a week."

"Well, try a day." Dean told him.

Dean then went on to explain how he had been out since the angels fell from the sky. Sam said last thing he remembered was being at the church feeling like crap and the angels falling.
