Chapter 43

Year later

After everything with Amara and Chuck was over and things were back to normal, Sam, Cass and Nova went back to the Bunker. Once they got there though, Nova realized none of them went and got groceries so she dropped Sam and Cass off and wanted to go to the store.

When she got back though, she spotted blood on the floor so she quickly pulled out her pistol and started calling out for Sam and Cass as she looked around.

She all of a sudden heard footsteps so she rounded the corner with her gun up but got a surprise when it was.

"Woah, Nova it's me." He quickly put his hands up.

"Dean? Is it really you?"

"Yeah, it's really me."

She let out a deep breath as she put her hands down and put it back in the hem of her pants. She then grins and jumps onto his arms to which he caught her.

"We-we thought something bad happened to you. Thank God, you're okay."

"Yeah." He puts her down and pushes her back some, "Where's Sam and Cass?"

"I-I don't know. I went to get some food and I came back and there was blood on floor." She sighs.

He grabs her hand, "We'll find them. Come on, there's someone I want you to meet."

He leads her to the library but had to quickly intervene because Mary was pointing a gun at Cass. He told her was a friend and they hugged.

"This is Castiel and this is Nova Trader." He motioned to Cass then Nova then to his mom, "This is Mary... Winchester."

Cass just stared at Dean confused as Nova spoke, "Wait, this is your mom?"

"Yeah." Dean smiles then asks about Sam.

"I don't know. We came back here, there was a woman waiting for us. She blasted me away. I don't know who she was. I don't know what happened to Sam."

"I don't understand. What happened?"

"Fuck, please let him be okay." Nova sighs.

"Well the Bunker is empty so, so they've obviously left here."

Nova then got into the laptop, hacked into the traffic cams and found that a black SUV ran a traffic light a few blocks away. She searched up the last known address the pages was registered to and they headed there.

They kept searching for where Sam could be located. Finally Cass was able to find out where he was so they headed there. On the way they struck up a conversation about their life's.

"You know when you died, it changed dad. I mean, he was hell- bent on finding out what happened. The hunter life it just over took him. I guess I was the same." Dean shrugged a little. But Sammy -- Sammy was different. He wanted out. He went to school. He went to Stanford."

"He had a chance to get out? And he came back?"

"When dad disappeared, Sam and I looked around, and something became very clear. The one thing we had in this world, the only thing, aside from this car -- was each other. And now he also has Nova. We both do. She's been a big help to us."

"So is that how you met the guys? Is through hunting?" Mary looked back at Nova.

"Oh, uhm, not exactly." Nova shook her head as she laid her arms on the back of the front seat, "I met Sam first, we met in college then a couple years after meeting him is when I finally got to meet Dean. He helped me find my dad actually. Like them, I'm a hunters kid, my dad was one, but my mom never got into it. Sam and Dean are pretty much the only thing close to family I have left unfortunately."

"Oh what happened to your parents?"

Nova sighs, "My dad was killed from the job. And my mom, she... she died from a car accident. I almost met the same fate as she did a couple years ago but thankfully I survived. I think if these boys weren't there for me I wouldn't be here. They grew up to be excellent men." Nova smiled at Dean, reaching over and giving his shoulder a light squeeze. "You'll definitely be proud of them." When she said that, both Dean and Mary smiled at her.

After they rescued Sam they headed back to the bunker, thankfully Cass was able to heal the damage that was done to him.

Later Nova found Sam laying in bed staring up at the ceiling.

"Baby? You okay?" She asks as she walked over to the bed.

"Hm? Yeah I'm fine." He smiles as he scoots over so she could lay down.

She lays down and cuddles up to him. He wraps his arms around her and kisses her forehead.

"Thinking about your mom being back? Pretty amazing huh?"

"Yeah. Yeah it is actually. Her being here fills a big hole in our lives. I didn't understand how at first but Dean explained it to me about Amara bringing her back."

"Yeah that surprised me that she would do that for you guys. But it's amazing though." She kisses his chin.

"That it is." He nods. "There's something I need to tell you."

"Oh?" She looked at him confused.

"Down in that basement. Toni, she have me this potion that messed with my mind, like badly to try to get information out of me. She even made it seem like I uh, her and me were in bed together. I thought it actually happened but it didn't. It was just that potion she shot into me."

"That bitch." She breaths out, "Makes me hate her even more." She then lays her hand on his cheek, "But I'm not going to think anything differently about you because I love you."

"I love you too and that's why I wanted to tell you. I didn't want to keep any secrets from you."

"Thank you." She smiles and they kiss.

They make- out for a few minutes then Nova breaks the kiss and snuggles her face into the side of his neck.

The next morning Nova makes them some breakfast, they let Mary sleep in knowing she probably needed it because Sam said he heard her roaming the halls throughout the night.

When she finally woke up and joined them she mentioned a case so Dean suggested they go check it out. Sam didn't think it was a good idea but Dean assured him it was fine.

"You coming with us?" Sam asked as Nova cleaned up the kitchen.

Nova shook her head, "No, this is something you three should do together without me." She walks over to him and puts her hands on the sides of his neck, "You may think it's a bad idea but this could be good for her. Could be good for all of you to be together and catch up. So go, go be with her."

"Okay."

After they kiss and he leaves so she finishes up cleaning the kitchen.
