"So to receive, you stand like this!" Kuroo spoke, positioning himself in a receiving position as he showed Kenma what to do.

"Like this?" Kenma tried to copy the position.

Kuroo's smile grew bigger as he stood up straight, moving over to help Kenma.

"Put your arms down a bit more," he put his hand on Kenma's arm, gently pushing his arm down to the correct spot. "Perfect!"

"Is this really necessary?" Kenma asked, already wanting to go back home and curl back up under his blankets.

"Yes, you do want to learn how to play, don't you?"

"Not really."

Kuroo laughed a bit before running to grab the volleyball.

"Let's practice receiving for a little!"

Kuroo quickly tossed the ball into the air before getting into a receiving position. Once the ball came back down, it bounced off his arms, now moving towards Kenma.

Kenma had watched how Kuroo received, quickly trying to do the same thing. Once the ball came down, it bounced off Kenma's arms, leaving a stinging feeling on his skin.

"Great job, Kenma!" Kuroo yelled as the ball came back to him.

Kenma watched as the ball came back in his direction. He realized he wasn't going to get the ball, and he tried to follow the ball's movements. He missed, causing the ball to bounce off his head.

He crouched down, putting his hands on his head. "Ow!"

Kuroo quickly ran over to his new friend's side. "Are you alright?"

Kenma didn't move, he just stayed curled up. "I told you I didn't want to play!" he snapped.

Kuroo's eyes widened as he flinched backwards. "S-sorry..." He looked down, "We can go back if you want."

Kenma looked over to Kuroo, now realizing what he did. "No Kuroo, I'm sorry, I-"

Kuroo looked back up at Kenma, both boys fell silent for a moment before Kenma let out a sigh.

"Let's try again." The smaller boy spoke, beginning to stand up.

"Wait, really?" Kuroo's eyes followed Kenma.

"Yeah, I guess."

That familiar smile appeared on Kuroo's face one again. Kenma realized that he liked it better when he seen Kuroo smile.

"Then let's try again!" Kuroo spoke loudly, jumping back to his feet.

The two of them played for hours, sending the ball back to one another. Kenma often asked to go back home, saying he was too tired. Kuroo would respond with "Five more minutes, please?" to which Kenma couldn't say no.

Those five minutes turned into four hours, when Kenma finally collapsed on the ground from exhaustion.

"Kenma! Are you okay? What happened?" Kuroo yelled, running over to his friend's side once again.

Kenma laid on the ground, staring at the sky for a moment, trying to catch his breath. "I'm tired."

Kuroo let out a small laugh. "It's getting dark soon anyway."

He soon joined the smaller boy on the ground, the two of them laying and watching as the blue sky was slowly changing color.

"Hey, I have an idea!" Kuroo quickly sat up.

"Hmm?"

"Wanna watch the sunset before we head home?"

Kenma thought for a moment. He wasn't sure how much longer he wanted to be covered in dirt, but there was something in the way Kuroo's eyes sparkled at the thought of watching the sunset.

"Fine."

Kuroo quickly got to his feet, once again grabbing Kenma's hand and pulling him up.

"Let's go over there!" Kuroo yelled, pulling Kenma towards a little stone wall.

Kuroo quickly climbed up the wall, holding Kenma's hand for support as Kenma climbed up and sat beside him.

"This is a perfect view of the sunset!" Kuroo's voice was filled with excitement.

A small smile formed on Kenma's face as he watched the sparkle in Kuroo's eyes shine brighter.

"Yeah," he spoke softly. "It is."
