"So how was your first day?" Kuroo asked as he and Kenma walked home.

"Decent, I guess."

"You enjoying having a new friend?"

"What new- you mean Yamamoto?"

"Yeah, he's your friend, isn't he?"

"No, he just started talking to me and then started dragging me around. Reminds me of how annoying you were when we were kids."

"I was not annoying!"

"Yes you were."

"Was not!"

"I'm not arguing with you about this."

Kuroo crossed his arms, Kenma rolled his eyes in response.

"Anyway," Kuroo spoke, his voice calm, "the team is meeting in the gym tomorrow after school."

Kenma didn't respond to this, instead he just continued walking with his head down.

"You should get used to Yamamoto, he's probably gonna be on the team too."

Kenma still didn't respond. The rest of the walk was fairly quiet.

Once they reached their houses, both of them went to Kenma's room.

"I gotta do some homework." Kuroo said, throwing his book bag onto Kenma's bed and sitting next to it.

"Okay. I'm gonna play my PSP."

"You don't have any homework?"

"I did it all during free period."

"Lucky."

Kenma just smiled as he sat on his bed and picked up his PSP, turning it on, and beginning a game.

The two of them sat in silence for a few minutes, the only noise coming from the game Kenma was playing. Kuroo suddenly threw himself backwards with a sigh.

"What's wrong?"

"Just math homework." Kuroo, now laying on the bed, turned his head to face Kenma.

"That sucks."

"Kenmaaa! Can you at least help me? You're good at math!"

"You're asking me, someone who is a grade behind you, to help you with math homework?"

"Well- just shut up and help me!"

Kenma sighed, putting his PSP down on the pillow next to him. "What's the problem?"

Kenma moved over so he was sitting next to Kuroo, who was now sitting back up and picking up the paper he needed.

"This one." Kuroo pointed to one of the problems.

"Oh, that's easy."

"Don't say it's easy!"

Kenma let out a small chuckle, then he leaned over to see the problem better.

"So, first you..."

Kuroo quickly found himself distracted by the way Kenma had laughed. He loved Kenma's little quiet laugh, and wished he could hear it more often. There were so many things Kuroo loved about Kenma. He could talk about Kenma for hours, days, weeks, even years.

The one and only thing he didn't love was that he didn't know if Kenma was gay or not. Kuroo is gay, he's known that for years. He's gay for his best friend, he knows that. But he doesn't know if Kenma would ever return those feelings.

There has been times where Kuroo has almost confessed to Kenma, but the fear of losing his best friend stops him from doing so.

"Do you understand now?"

"What?" Kuroo finally snapped back into reality.

"Were you not listening to anything I said?"

"I, uh- ow! Kenma!" Kuroo grabbed his side where Kenma had elbowed him.

"I'm not explaining it again."

"Wait, I'll pay attention this time!"

"Nope, you should've paid attention the first time."

"Kenma! You're so mean!"

"Okay, and?"

Kuroo crossed his arms, pretending to pout.

"I'm going back to playing my game."

Kenma picked up his PSP, and tried moving back to the spot he was sitting in originally, but was stopped by Kuroo grabbing the back of his shirt.

"Let me go, Kuro."

"Not until you help me with this problem."

"I already did."

"One more time, please?"

"No."

"Please?"

"No."

"Please?"

"No."

"Alright, then you don't get to leave."

"Fine." Kenma leaned backwards against Kuroo's arm, laying his head on Kuroo's shoulder.

Kuroo froze, feeling his face turn red and his heart beating faster.

"K-Kenma-

"Do your homework."

"I kinda can't when you're on my arm."

"You're the one who said I can't leave."

"Fine, you can leave."

"Nope."

"And you say I'm the annoying one."

"You are."

"Am not."

"You are."

"Am not."

"But you are."

"Just get off me."

Kuroo shoved Kenma off his arm, causing Kenma to almost fall off the bed.

"Kuro!"

"I told you to get off me."

Kenma glared at Kuroo, before making a failed attempt at pushing Kuroo off the bed. After only a few seconds of trying, Kenma gave up and decided to just lay down, putting his feet on Kuroo's shoulder.

"Seriously, Kenma?" Kuroo pushed Kenma's feet away, resulting in Kenma just putting his feet on Kuroo's lap.

Kuroo gave up, picking his paper back up and trying to figure out how to do the math problem that he was stuck on before.

Kenma had gone back to playing his game on his psp. They were both fairly quiet for the next few hours, until both had fallen asleep.
