Imagine: A girl spots Druig and Makkari

——————————————————————

Her eyes wandered over the field as she picked at a flower. Her scalp tickled as hands sifted through her hair, gathering three strands and twisting them into each other.

She spotted the couple when she looked up from her flower.

The woman, dark hair pulled high but released from braids. A red, tunic like shirt adorned her, falling over loose, black pants that ended just above her ankles and black sandals. She had a petite frame. And her smile had the girl in awe.

The woman didn't speak a word. But the man beside her seemed to have no problems communicating with her. She seemed to talk with her hands.

The man was tall, with dark hair and soft eyes with a hidden intensity to them. He wore the same as the woman beside him, but all black. He stood tall and always hovered close to the silent woman. A smile as sweet as honey, maybe sweeter. It was a look similar to the one she'd seen her mama and papa share.

She could tell the couple got along well. They seemed to glow in each other's presence. Like they were perfectly in tune with each other. Like they'd known each other five lifetimes.

One of the villagers stood and moved towards the woman, holding a delicate crown made of red and yellow flowers. The girl extended the flower crown to the woman and she took it graciously. Her smile was blinding. The group of villagers, along with the man standing beside her, watched as she placed the crown on her head. When it was securely on her head she moved so that everyone could see. She brought her hand up to communicate again. The man translated the gesture.

"She says thank you. Says it's very pretty." The woman placed her fingers delicately on the crown and turned to the man, her smile never dimming.

"Oh my, what have I done to deserve such a beautiful smile?"
She lifted her hands.
"Thank you for bringing me out today. I love," she gestured to the world around them, "this."
He chuckled and nodded, eyes dropping to the ground before coming back up to rest on her face.
He spoke softly as she read his lips.
"Anything for you."

Her chin tipped upwards and he copied her movement.
They started walking back toward the village, shoulders touching. He nudged her and she shoved him lightly, then he shoved her in return. She stopped walking. Just a few seconds later he stopped. She slapped him lightly on the chest, giving him a look before walking ahead. He stared at the spot she tood for a few seconds before smirking and following close behind.

She didn't know much, as she was young; but she knew those two were tied to each other in some powerful way.
