"I can't believe he moved into my apartment building of all places, like they're other places to live in this city." You grumbled while you wiped down the bar counter. Your boss Shakky was sitting on the other side of the counter listening to rant about some guy from high school while she sipped at her whiskey.
"Why does seeing him bother you so much? Do you still like him?" Shakky questioned as she set her empty glass down.
"Shakky I got over him a long time ago besides I have a boyfriend." You huffed, you finished wiping down the counter and continued to go through your opening checklist.
"Then what does it matter?" Shakky smirked as she refilled her glass. You let out a sigh as you massaged your temples, it really shouldn't matter that you've seen Killer again for the first time in four years.
"It's just how things ended suck and now he's my neighbor. If I'd just seen him in passing I wouldn't care, but now he's right next door." You frowned, you pushed the thought of Killer out of your mind. You didn't need to be thinking about him while at work. The two waitresses and the waiter that were working tonight walked in from the back, they each said hello to you and Shakky before going to there sections and making sure everything was in order.
When you first started working at Shakky's bar it was at a much smaller location so there was no need for waiters and waitresses. But the place would fill up quickly with no end to the customers, you could barely keep up with the orders that came in. So Shakky bought a bigger bar to house her many customers and hired a wait staff to help out.
Shakky got up from the bar and went over to the door to flip the sign from closed to open. She was a great boss and always helped out when customers were being to rowdy, but for the most part she was usually off to the side with a drink while handling business dealings.
The night started out busy, customers came one right after the other. Shakky even had to come and help you make drinks at one point. It wasn't until an hour before closing time when things started to slow down, the younger customers had gone off to the clubs while the older crowd stuck around.
"Hey there pretty lady." One of your regulars came up to the counter, he was a natural flirt so you never paid any mind to his advances. And he didn't care that his advances didn't work on you, he was a friendly person overall and liked chatting with you in general.
"Hey Shanks, your here later then usual. Have a busy day?" You greeted the red head, you poured his favorite beer and handed it to him.
"Just business that needed to be sorted out." Shanks downed his beer and set the empty mug down on the counter, you already had a new mug of beer ready for him.
"Well I have some more drinks to make." You nodded your head over to the new customers that just sat at the bar, along with that one of the waiters brought over an order of drinks he needed for a table. You went over and greeted the new customers, you made there drinks quickly before moving onto the drinks that the waiter needed.
"Has anyone ever told you that you look like an angel while making drinks?" Shanks smirked at you.
"Plenty of people have." You yawned, it had been a long night and you just wanted to go Niji's place and sleep.
"Shanks I'm glad you stopped by, I was gonna call you about adding more kegs of beer to the order." Shakky came up to the bar, she didn't sit though meaning she wanted to take the conversation to her office. Shanks owned a brewery and supplied the bar with it's beer, it was a very popular drink of choice at the bar so more of it was needed.
"I'll see you around." Shanks waved you goodbye as he followed Shakky into her office. The rest of your shift went by like usual, you charred with some of the customers and your coworkers. One of your coworkers helped with washing all the glasses while you wiped down the counter. Once the last customer left you walked around the bar to make sure everything was in order before leaving. Shakky always stayed behind to count the money that was made.
Finally you could go to your boyfriend's place.
