Family Tree.

• Manik Malhotra and Nandini Bedi Malhotra.

A newly wedded couple trying to understand and share their life with each other. Paired up by the Almighty and their family in a scared bond that they both deeply respect and wish to cherish for forever and beyond.

Nandini- A well educated and well-mannered girl. Youngest child of her parents, brought up with all the love yet it couldn't set her free from the social restrictions a girl had to live with. Has a strong opinionated mind but fears to go against the decisions of the elders, that she has obediently followed throughout her life. Marriage was such a decision she agreed upon, trusting her father's words and for her, it was for her beautiful future.

Manik- A stubborn, reserved and hot-headed individual. Tutored till high school but life has taught him lessons he cannot forget. His mother was his lifeline but lost her due to a deadly disease in the 1970s, Leprosy. Was the only person with her when she took her last breathe. Her personality and sufferings impacted his mind and personality to a larger extent. He lived under the wings of his late maternal grandfather and later had to shift with his father when he was 16.

• Prakash Malhotra and Lt. Kasturi Malhotra - Manik's parents.

Having a laid back attitude towards life, he couldn't do business with his elder brothers and was dependent on his late wife Kasturi Malhotra, who was a tailoress and established a factory on her own along with bringing up her three children. However, they lost a lot of their wealth while undergoing a treatment of the incurable disease she contracted.

Prakash started working in a post office since the demise of his wife to feed his children.

Has three children- Madhu(she had a twin sister who died when two years old due to undernutrition), Manik and Manas.

Manas and Madhu grew up together, living with their father while Manik stayed with Kasturi in her maiden house for her treatment.

Prakash had two brothers and one sister who stayed in Lucknow itself, but separately. His eldest brother passed away according the authority to his wife Sampurna Malhotra. She was the head of the family, however, Manik kept no relations with them. He kept a condition for Prakash to choose his children or his brothers and sister, with Manas and Madhu supporting Manik. Living in a guilt for never being for his children, he agreed to Manik's condition. They had minimum social interaction needed.

Madhu Taneja- Elder sibling of Manik. Another reserved personality but kind at heart. Has three sons (Shivansh, Rahul and Veer) and live in a joint family with her in-laws.

• Lt. Shankar Virani & Parvati Virani - Manik's maternal grandparents. He lived with them till 16yrs of age.

Anil & Renu Virani - Manik's maternal uncle and aunt.

Growing up together and not much older than Manik, Anil always considered him as his brother he never had. Anil always had Manik's back and for Anil, Manik is the only person he can rely on, in his tough times.

Renu - A well-mannered and docile lady with a hospitable nature. Has two sons, Nitin (6 year old ) and Jay (one year old).

• Swastik and Jyoti Bedi - Nandini's parents.
Swastik is a successful business man of his time, running a handloom business that he handed over to his two sons, Shyam and Ram. Although a serious personality, but is quite open-minded in many terms.

Jyoti is a housewife, who brought up her seven children will all the values and care. Her life revolved around her family and that was all accounted for her happiness.

Has seven children- Bharti, Pooja, Shyam, Nirmala, Shalini, Ram and Nandini.

All siblings are married and have their own family.

Asha- eldest daughter in law of Bedis.

Monica & Shravan- Shyam and Asha's children.

Sapna- Ram's wife. Has a daughter named Anjali.
