19th January, 1996.

Nandini stretched her left arm lazily and tried to turn on her side to sleep more. However, the weight on her right shoulder didn't let her move. Suspiring lightly, she opened her eyelids to the sight of her husband slumbering on her shoulder, snoring a bit louder than usual. The saliva dribbled down his parted lips, wetting her kurta. Nothing had disturbed her as the exhaustion had taken over and worked its wonders on them.

A smile involuntarily touched her lips. The calmness on his face gave her immense peace. Reaching up, her fingers delved into his thick soft locks that were sprawled over his forehead giving him a boyish look and she combed them back before dropping a gentle peck there in the center and shifted his head comfortably on the pillow.

She could and wish to wake up to this heart melting spectacle daily and till her last breathe. She chuckled softly at her thoughts, sounding no different from a hopeless lover. But she wasn't to be blamed. Her husband had turned her into one and she'd no complaints about it.

To check the time, she reached for her wrist watch kept on the single bedside stool on his side, inadvertently sweeping her tresses on his face like a silken brush.

It was three in the afternoon and that left her both surprised and excited. They had slept for good six hours after checking in, into the hotel and now well rested; they had couple of hours to go for sightseeing before the nightfall.

All she'd to do was wake her dear husband. Placing the watch back, she stared down at him and cupped his stubble-d left cheek, stroking his rugged chin with her thumb. Her eyes meandered over to his long lashes brushing his bony cheeks and a naughty glint shone in her eyes. Softly, she blew air at his face and hurriedly lied back on her place shutting her own eyes when he twitched in sleep. Sensing no further movement, she hesitatingly opened her single eye followed by another and sighed to find him asleep. His reaction apprehended her but annoying him gave her a joyous thrill. She couldn't waste this opportunity and hence did it once more but instead of waking up, he rubbed his eyes cutely and slept again cuddling to her.

Curling her lips at her defeat, she thought to straightway pinch him on his stomach and end her struggle but stopped at the last moment. It would be too cruel. She tried shaking him up and expectantly the results weren't in his favor.

She can kiss him into waking and he wouldn't be grumpy for sure.

The idea felt pleasing with the least risk and hundred percent strike rate but it was too venturesome for a woman like Nandini, who was still a learner. He wasn't an expert either and hence there wasn't any room for awkwardness between them but after these months, he'd skilled himself to dissolve her into his passionate kisses. She didn't know how was she herself as a kisser. And now to initiate?

She had done once before, so she could peck him and he would wake up.

Drawing near to his parted lips, she felt his warm breaths mingling with her ragged ones. Gulping hard at the amorousness and in sudden fear, she moved back. If he wakes up in the middle and found her atop him, he'd tease her senseless after blowing away her senses with his artful lips. She knew his tactics too well for her own good and cannot take a risk like that. But she wanted to go out. She'd caught the glimpse of the snow layering the whole town of Srinagar in the morning and cannot wait to have a stroll amidst the heavenly gardens with him by her side.
