Next update on next Monday!

2nd November, 1995.

The insistent chirping sound of the birds from the balcony etched a frown over Nandini's forehead. She opened her eyes, disoriented and found herself in a dimly illuminated room, with soft sunrays making it cosily warm. She failed to turn around and catch some sleep, feeling a weight over her left shoulder.

Realisation dawned upon her as she felt his warm puffs caressing her skin. A hair rising current passed through her body and she was fully awake.

They were naked, tangled, under the blanket and she felt heat rushing to her face thinking about their blissful night and their current position.

Shifting a bit, she placed his head over his pillow and chuckled at his open mouth and found some drool spilled over her shoulder. He was in deep sleep with his palm resting on her belly and legs restraining her's. He seemed to like cuddling while she wasn't a fan of it.

"Happy birthday! May God fulfill all your wishes and you be happy always." Mumbling a prayer for his health and safety, she pecked his forehead softly making sure to not disturb his sleep.

Unshackling herself from his clutches, she sat straight and felt her muscles sore. Picking up his shirt thrown near his feet, she wiped the saliva from her shoulder before quickly slipping into it.

The bed seemed inviting to her worn out body but her mind knew better to get out of the enticement soon and start her day. She cannot make anymore mistakes.

Her body shivered as her bare feet touched the cold floor. She wore his big slippers for her own were in the luggage that wasn't completely unpacked.

Walking towards the cupboard, she felt deliciously sore between her legs, each step she took was achingly slow.

Smiling to herself, she tucked her hair strand behind her ear and her gaze fell on her few missing bangles. She found them scattered near her pillow and the scene that forced them out of her wrists flashed back in her mind making her squirm.

Shaking her head to get that thought out, she collected them along with her earrings. She brushed her right ear lobe and remembered the way he kissed her birth mark with no disgust, instead, he treated it a part of her, like it was. For the first time, the mark didn't feel like a scar to her.

Hearing a shuffling sound she looked down and saw Manik tossing around, her tresses disturbing his sleep. Her small smile widened into a full fledged grin, the way he scrunched his nose as the hair ends tickled his face. Realising that she is getting late, she immediately stepped back and covered him properly before changing into a cotton maxi and covered herself with a shawl.

Putting a bucket of water for heating, she freshened up and came back in her room. She folded all their clothes and put few of them in another bucket for washing it later on and also managed some of her luggage in the cupboard till the water gets heated. Once done, she took a warm bath and got dressed like a newly married girl, in a frozy blue colour patiala suit and an embroidered dupatta. The bangles were on her wrists again , along with the nuptial chain and another chain that had her engagement ring around. Standing in front of the mirror, she filled her hairline and  jingled her earrings with a face splitting grin that doesn't seem to falter since she woke up. She never felt so beautiful, maybe because someone else, someone really special admired her as the most beautiful person in his small world.

Startled with the clang sound of a steel glass falling on the floor, Nandini looked aside and saw him awake and staring at the floor with a tongue stuck out of his mouth. He was probably awake and silently adoring his wife getting ready, resting his head on the elbow. His hand slipped, striking the glass and it hit the floor.
