Shaken up by the return of your father, Mirabel works to comfort you, and sincerely reveals her romantic feelings with a kiss, which leaves you in thought the next day while breakfast with the family turns chaotic with the sudden presence of your father, who leaves for the graveyard of your abuela as you follow suit, with the grandkids tailing after you. The man then reveals why he came back, urging you to head to the city with him and that your future suitor will come to visit soon. As Dolores and Antonio are the only ones to hear the conversation, they grow wary of the man and the reaction of other family members.

The soles of Dolores's espadrilles rapidly tapped along the stone path – urgent, quick to the point where it was difficult to keep up with. Closely behind her, a certain flora manipulator attempted to match her pace, spouting out question after question about the conversation between you and your father, yet the all-hearing woman kept her lips sealed. The more Isabela spoke, the more frustrated Dolores felt at the situation. She knew there was something off about that man the moment she heard his voice. He really thinks he could steal you away just like that? No. She wouldn't allow it.
Meanwhile, the silky-haired ravenette grew agitated at her prima's unresponsiveness. The omnipresent listener was never good at keeping secrets; everyone in the family knew that, but the thought of what you and your father talked about was gnawing at Isabela's psyche. She felt as though she needed to oversee everything that went on with you. If she didn't, what would happen if you got hurt? Is it so bad to simply look out for someone whom she deeply cares about?
"Dolores, just tell me—!"
Said woman abruptly stops in her tracks and whips her head, now properly facing Isabela. Her brown orbs darted back and forth as she fiddled with the hem of the pleated fabric on her shirt. Everyone will find out either way, it was inevitable. But if the secret was out now... some would get even closer than before, soaking up all of your attention. Perhaps it was selfish – petty even, but that doesn't matter. What matters is the time she gets to spend with you. So maybe for now... it'd be best to keep it for herself. She managed to withhold the fact that you were covertly meeting with Bruno, so surely she'd be able to remain quiet for this one as well, right?
Dolores turns her eyes up to meet Isabela's unwavering gaze. It was a look that she had never seen before with the silky-haired woman. Intense, eager; almost... threatening. The omnipresent listener squeaked, now fiddling with her thumbs. Her prima's unblinking hazel optics continued to pierce her own brown ones, until finally, she caves in. Words quick and tone even more hushed than usual, but still enough for Isabela to hear.
"Their father wants them to go with him to the city—!"
"WHAT?!"
As the flora manipulator yells, the all-hearing woman simultaneously shuts her eyes and covers her ears at the sudden surge of volume in Isabela's voice, which caused a giant cactus to sprout from the ground, making some villagers stop in their tracks to look. Slowly taking a peek, Dolores could see the pure wrath in her prima's face. Before she managed to stomp off (presumably to see you), the all-hearing listener manages to grab her arm, pulling her off the beaten path where ears won't perk up to listen. Word spreads fast in the Encanto, but not when they can't hear.
"Isa, don't tell anyone, not yet."
"Look, if Abuela learns about it, she can finally kick that... stupid man out!"
"What do you think the villagers are gonna do when the Madrigals suddenly kick out an... innocent guest?"
"Who cares?!"
