The sun peaking through the curtains is what first caused Dream's eyes to flutter open. The light, beaming straight towards his eyelids, causing him to roll over and attempt to find a position where he's not bothered by the sunshine.

By the third time he's rolled over, he no longer wants to sleep.

He lets his eyes open slowly, looking over to the empty spot in his bed.

"Oh," he mutters to himself.

Daniel left him.

He doesn't blame the other. It must've been overwhelming for him last night, but Dream couldn't help but feel disappointed.

He began to climb out of the bed, a shiver sending through his body as he leaves the warm blankets on the bed.

He walks out to the bathroom, first looking in the mirror.

The marks on his neck are still there.

He knows that they didn't get far yesterday, but the hickeys that Daniel left were very much still there.

He doesn't want to look anymore. He flickers the light switch down and walks out the bathroom.

He walks out into the small living room area of the hotel room, it being much nicer than imagined. He didn't get a chance to see anything else other than the bed last night, but he wad a bit impressed that Daniel got this for the two of them.

But Daniel still wasn't here.

Dream sat on the couch, finding the remote on the light brown coffee table before turning on the television. He found himself searching through channels, finally choosing to watch some action movie that was on.

He sat there for minutes straight before suddenly, the door handle clicked and swung open.

Dream's head snapped towards the left and he yelped in surprise.

Daniel was back.

He was smiling softly, "I'm sorry, I just went to the lobby to get breakfast. I wasn't sure if you'd be up, but I brought you some."

Dream startled expression turns to more of a smile.

"Of course, yeah."

Dream scooted over for Daniel to sit next to him. Daniel slowly made his way over to the couch, placing the two bags of food on the table in front of them.

Together, they open each of the bags, grabbing the plastic forks out of the bags to eat the simplistic breakfast of scrambled eggs and what looks to be microwaved waffles.

It wasn't the best breakfast, but neither of the two expected much from a hotel lobby.

Waiting to finally finish chewing his first bite of food, Daniel finally speaks up, "Can we speak about it? It's been bothering me so much. And— I know we don't really know each other, but—" he stops there, hoping Dream would get where he was getting at.

"Yeah, of course." Dream replies, taking another bite of the food before putting the fork down for good.

It really wasn't that good.

"Well look, I'm really sorry. I went to that club to try and get my mind off of things, and I didn't intend to go that far when thinking about going there," he explains.

"I feel like shit about it and I'm sorry," he whispers finally.

Dream pulls his knees up to his chest, sitting in a more comfortable position, letting his arms rest on his knees.

"It's okay Daniel. I'm sorry too— if anything. I have some things going on myself and I still like this person, but we broke up. I shouldn't have gotten into this myself." Dream admits.

Silence fills the air for a long moment before Daniel speaks up, a small smile starting to tug at the corners of his lips. "I guess we're both assholes then, huh?" He laughs quietly, which Dream joins in on as well.

"I suppose so."

He waits as Daniel continues to eat his food before spitting a piece back out onto the plate.

He scrunches his nose is disgust, "It was cold."

Dream laughs, "That's why I stopped eating. Plus it was just nasty in general."

Daniel nods before taking both of their plates to the trash can under the sink in the tiny kitchen area. He returns to sitting next to Dream, joining him in watching him whatever had been playing.

"Y'know," Dream speaks up, "I want to keep hanging out with you."

There's a slight pause before he continues. "Obviously not how we intended to last night," Dream says, Daniel stiffens at the remark.

"But as friends. I like you," he finishes.

Daniel relaxes, "I like you too."

After they had watched the movie, the realized they had to be out of the room. It had been noon, and the housekeepers were knocking on the door.

They both rushed out and apologized for not leaving on time before making their way downstairs and returning the key.

"Thank you for staying!" The receptionist said, giving the two a bright smile before they walked out.

Daniel called individual taxis for both of them, as they both had different places to go.

"Here," Daniel said, pulling his phone out of his pocket. He opened his phone and pulled up his number, showing the screen to Dream.

"Take my number. So we can hang out more," he said.

Dream smiled before pulling out his phone as well, adding a new contact to his new phone. He completely forgot about the new phone Karl had bought him.

They called each other, making sure the numbers were correct an so forth before their taxis finally arrived.

"Alright, well I'll see you sometime soon, okay?" Daniel says.

Dream smiles, "Right. See you."

Dream gets in the back seat on the car, telling the taxi driver the destination before the cat starts moving. After putting on his seatbelt on, he begins to text Karl.

dream
hey

i might be at ur place later today

not soon tho

karl
k sounds good

i won't be home until like 10 tho so you're gonna have to use the key under the mat

Dream doesn't reply after that. He only puts his phone back in his pocket, waiting to finally arrive at his destination.

—————

It's been thirty minutes, and he's finally arrived.

He pays the driver the requested amount, giving a small tip as well.

He exits the car, breathing in the cold fresh air.

Florida usually isn't this nice out, but the sun is out with a nice breeze. Dream is thankful for it.

He walks on the concrete, finally walking up to where he needed to be before picking a key up from under a mat, pushing it into the small hole in the door and turning it along with the knob.

He walked inside, shutting the door behind him before making his way to the living room.

He was met with a surprised face.

He suddenly felt more nervous then he had been in the taxi.

Finally, he takes a long breath before speaking,

"Hey Sapnap."
