The drive to Karl's house was painful for Dream. It was his first time away from home in a while, and he'd never been away from Sapnap more than a week.

But what his sister suggested to him was right.

He needed time to heal and to take his mind off of things. He needed time to process his emotions without Sapnap clouding his mind.

But he finally arrived with Karl's house, taking a deep breath before stepping out of his car and slamming the door shut behind him.

He walked to the front door, ringing the doorbell and waiting for an answer.

Soon enough, the brunette peaked out from behind the door, giving Dream a comforting smile before letting him in.

He walked slightly past Karl before turning around, waiting for the door to shut before accepting a warm hug from Karl.

And just like that, he started to cry again.

He wanted Sapnap to hug him and hold him, kiss him until he couldn't cry anymore. He wanted to hear Sapnap's voice as he fell asleep during a late night.

"I'm sorry Karl," he whispered. "I shouldn't be crying, I—"

Dream pulled away from the hug, wiping his tears with his sleeve.

"It's okay, Dream. I know that you're probably going through a lot," Karl comforted.

"Now c'mon, let go talk."

Karl gently grabbed Dream's hand and led him to the couch.

The sat down next to a each other, Karl letting go of Dream's hand as they sat down.

"Do you want to tell me what happened?" Karl asked.

Dream looked down to his lap before responding. "He—"

Dream's breath caught in his throat, just by thinking back to the situation.

"I saw him in bed— with— with another boy."

Karl's eyes went wide. "He cheated?"

Dream nodded, tears continuing to fall off from his chin.

"Oh my god— that fucker." Karl muttered.

He started patting his pockets, looking around the couch. He looked to the coffee table in front of the both of them before grabbing his phone.

He stood up from the couch and started walking towards his room, "I'll be back," Karl said.

"Wait, what are you doing?" Dream asked.

"Talking to Sapnap. Stay here."

Before Dream could protest, Karl had already been gone into his room, the door shut and locked.

All he hoped is that he didn't hurt Sapnap.

—————

Karl stood in his room, waiting for Sapnap to pick up the phone.

His fourth try calling him, and he was done with trying to call the phone number.

He got onto his computer and got onto discord. He scrolled down through his friends to finally find Sapnap.

He immediately clicked call, looking at the contact as he listened to the dial tone.

Sapnap was online.

It took a few seconds before the "dialing" message turned to "connecting".

A few seconds later, it showed both of them in the call.

It was silent for a moment before Sapnap finally spoke up.

"Hello?" He said.

"So," Karl replied, "you cheated."

He heard Sapnap's breath shutter over the mic.

"What the fuck is wrong with you Sapnap." Karl spat, the aggression in his voice being extremely apparent.

"I didn't mean to," he muttered.

Karl laughed. "Oh really? Is that how it works?" Karl asked sarcastically.

"You just fuck another guy while your in a relationship on accident?" Karl asked.

"You make me sound dumb," Sapnap said.

"You are dumb," Karl shot back.

Sapnap sighed, his chest feeling heavy from the guilt he was feeling. His mind, clouded with thoughts of Dream.

"Can I be honest with you, Karl?" Sapnap whispered.

"Go on."

Sapnap hesitates before speaking, thinking his words through.

"I think Dream was right," his voice was quiet, yet unsure. "I don't think I did love him during a period of our relationship. I think I did lose interest at one point."

He paused his thoughts, thinking once again.

"And why are you telling me this?" said Karl.

"I'm— I'm not done. I'm just... thinking."

"Think faster."

Sapnap let his head hang low. His friend is disappointed in him too, and rightfully so. But he's never heard Karl be so harsh with him, or so snappy.

It was intimidating to him, admittedly. But he thought he deserved the harsh treatment.

Because he did, didn't he.

"I— I was saying that I did probably lose interest, I think. But now that I've lost him, and now that I can't have him, it makes me realize how much I can't live without him."

It fell silent for a moment.

"So you're saying you had to cheat to realize you loved him," Karl scoffed. "Get your self in check, dude. That's so fucked."

"That's not what I mean, and you know it." Sapnap defended quietly. "I mean that I regret what I did, and if I could go back I'd never do it—"

"You can't go back," Karl interrupted.

Sapnap paused.

"I know Karl, please just listened to me." Sapnap huffed, pleading for anything Karl would give him.

"No, Sapnap. I don't want to listen to you right now," Karl replied, shocking Sapnap, making his breath catch in his throat.

"When my one of my best friends comes over to my house crying about you cheating, I'm not going see you as the person I used to see you as."

Sapnap exhaled slowly, yet his chest still felt like it was tightening as Karl spoke.

"And I'm not going to be fucking happy either."

Karl paused for a moment, checking the time.

"I have to get back to Dream, since he needs someone to comfort him because of what you did. Maybe you can call George— and tell him what you did since you need someone to listen so badly," Karl spat.

Before Sapnap could respond, Karl left the call.

He rolled back from the desk, pushing his chair out as he stood.

He walked towards the door, finally unlocking it and walking back into the hallway.

He walked back to the living room, looking at the couch to see Dream asleep.

And even as he was asleep, he still looked painfully tired.

Karl decided to make the boy some food that he could wake him up to.

He deserved something nice anyway.
