Dream woke up to the sound of shattering glass. His heart dropped to his stomach, his eyes shot open, and he sat up in an instant.

When he looked, it was only Sapnap standing over the newly made mess.

"I— I'm sorry. I dropped my cup. I— I don't— I didn't mean to—"

"It's okay," Dream interrupted with a rasp to his voice. He cleared his throat before speaking again. "Do you need help cleaning or..?" Dream hesitated, waiting for an answer.

"No, I'm sorry though." He said.

Dream yawns, "Don't be."

Dream grabs his phone from his pocket, and just by checking the screen, guilt starts to flood his brain.

Karl had messaged him so many times, as well as called. George had too. Shit.

"Sap, I'm going to be outside. I need to make a few calls," he said, standing up rather quickly.

He heard Sapnap hum, and that was all he needed to hear before he walked out the door.

He went back to his usual, sitting down on the stairs and reaching behind the flower pot again. He grabs a cigarette, lights it, then calls Karl.

It rings for a long moment before he's finally met with an answer.

"Hello?" He says first.

"Dream— fuck — you're okay," he said, sounding extremely distressed. "I got so scared, man. I thought that you were still with that guy or something— or that something bad happened. Holy shit, where are you?"

Dream felt so incredibly guilty. He just left Karl after saying nothing.

"I'm so sorry Karl. I'm back at my place, but do you want to meet up today? Maybe we could talk about everything."

"Yes please. Dude I missed you. I don't know, it just felt weird without a goodbye."

"Sorry," Dream whispered out before taking a breath full of smoke.

"I'll meet you at your place later, okay?" Dream decides.

"Yeah that works. Also because your car is still here," Karl responds with a chuckle.

Dream breathes out another puff of smoke, "Yeah I remember."

The phone call doesn't last long after that, both if them quickly saying their goodbyes as Dream explains he has to make another call.

And he proceeds to.

His phone rings momentarily before a familiar voice comes from behind the screen.

"Dream? Did you talk to Karl?"

"Yes, sorry I was out for a bit," he responds to the voice. It felt nice to hear the brits voice again.

"Oh alright, well how are you holding up? Is everything okay with you?" George asks.

"About that— I'm actually back at my house with him, I kind of wanted to talk to you about it," Dream explains.

He knows he'll end up talking to Karl about the same things later, but George is different. There's something about the longer he's known George that makes him feel more okay about sharing everything.

"Go on," the brit says.

So he talks. He doesn't talk about things that would cause unnecessary drama between the brit and his ex-boyfriend, but only the parts that are important.

He skips over the degrading names Sapnap called him, he skips over the fact that Sapnap lashed out in him completely. He only talks about how scared he felt when he saw Sapnap through the window.

It was scary.

"I don't think I ever seen him like that. I thought something horrible happened, but I don't even know. He just moved on like it was nothing. I guess I did too," he says.

George could imagine how worried his friend would be.

"Maybe he just fell?" George tries, trying to get a better grasp of the situation, also trying to get the blond to stop overthinking.

"No George— if you would've seen the look on his face— god I was scared."

George can't help but sigh. "I really don't know Dream. But is he okay now?"

Dream simply hums.

"That's good then. And you're okay with like, being with him after what happened?" George asks, curious as to why Dream had been back so soon.

Dream hesitated long and hard. He had so many things to say. Hell, he could write a book on how he felt about this whole thing. It was confusing, irritating, upsetting, and more. But Dream couldn't help but put himself back in that fight.

"I can't get over him," he decides on. "It's hard George, I don't know."

There's a silence which makes the call incredibly uncomfortable, before Dream is closing his eyes. He wants help, he wants to know he's doing the right thing.

But no matter what answer he gets he'll know he'll only follow what he desires, that being to be with Sapnap.

"Well, do you think you're doing the right thing?" George says. "Didn't he hurt you?"

"Yeah but— it's a lot. At this point I— I don't know— I just can't lose him."

George hums. "Alright, whatever makes you happy, man."

"Right, well I'll have to go. I'll talk to you in a bit, okay?"

George responds with a simple "okay" before Dream says his last goodbyes.

He puts out what's left of his cigarette before popping his head back inside.

"Sap, I'll be out for a bit," he yells, before slamming the door shut.

He calls a taxi, it reminds him of Daniel, he shakes the thought away.

He patiently waits for his taxi to arrive so he can see Karl. And god, was his mind racing during that time.
