I fastened my bracelet awkwardly around my right wrist and hand and smiled at it.
After the events of Monday, I'd started wearing my Melvyn heirloom not only to get used to how it felt on my body but also to help me train. I was glad I had because the power boost it gave me and how it helped me to centre my elements was monumental. I'd needed the whole of Tuesday to adapt to it. Since then, I only took my bracelet off to sleep and shower. The rest of the time it was securely fastened to my wrist and hand.
It was simple in a delicate way. The bracelet was centred around the silver pentagram set in a circle which rested on the back of my hand at the base of my thumb and forefinger. There was a chain that connected to the circle of the pentagram and wrapped around my wrist so that my bracelet was secured and didn't wiggle around. There were three more chains which were fastened to the pentagram and these drooped across the back of my hand, connecting to the chain around my wrist. There was also a fifth chain connected to the circle of the pentagram, however this chain wrapped around my index finger. The entire bracelet was made of silver, however each chain had a few gems dotted along and I became aware on Tuesday that these gems corresponded to one of the five elements. Unfortunately, even Electric wasn't common in the Melvyn line and so there was no gem to connect the sixth element with my heirloom. As far as my understanding over the Melvyn heirloom went, the actual token adapted itself using the power of the Melvyn it was connected to in order to take a form more appealing to that Melvyn. It had been a necklace for centuries, however it had adapted to become a bracelet. Why it had chosen to take the form of a bracelet, I would never know but I was just glad to have it with me. Perhaps if I asked it, it could adapt itself again to include Electric in the mix of gems so that each of my elements were represented fairly.
The chain around my wrist had three gems of moss agate. This gem was a milky white with streaks of dark green, looking like the moss on a tree. I'd researched using the books in Magic School to find meanings for all of the gems on my bracelet. Moss agate was my Earth gem and was known to help aid the growth of nature and was good for cleansing the self and things around. Moss agate was good to help with grounding as well as ensure mental concentration, persistence and endurance.
The chain around my finger had three gems of angelite which was my gem for Spirit. This gem was a violet colour and was known to be a powerful stone for healers. Angelite was known to represent peace and brotherhood as well as enhance psychic healing, telepathic communication, astral and spirit journeys and allowed contact with the angels and spirit guides to connect with the higher self. Considering my abilities with Spirit I felt that angelite was the perfect gem.
The final three chains all had three gems on each chain, associated with Fire, Air and Water. Aquamarine was the gem for Water due to its link with the ocean and was a beautiful pale blue colour. This gem represented Water quite well in my opinion due to the fact that it was known to be a calming stone, inspiring truth, cleansing and letting go and helping the wearer become aware of their own consciousness and to speak their thoughts calmly and logically.
Red jasper was the gem for Fire and my particular version was quite vibrant and so was beautiful. I felt, especially with the Ceremony being today, that red jasper was perfect because it was supposed to help with stress and connecting to the earth. The stone was also known for eliminating negative energies and cleansing the aura as well as clearing the mind during meditation or prayer. A book in Magic School had also told me that red jasper has a high spiritual energy and so is great when used in ceremonies to increase the endurance needed to perform a ritual.
