I yawned, stretching my hands above my head before slumping against the sofa with a huff as I glared at my calculus homework. I was not in the mood to be doing schoolwork now but I knew I had to do it because I probably wouldn't have time when everyone came over.
The egg timer started chiming and I jumped to my feet before running into the kitchen and shoving oven gloves on my hands before pulling the final pieces of food out of the oven. Since we would be having company, I'd decided to cook so that we could feed everyone while they were here. Luckily Piper had some pizza dough that she'd kept ready for the next time I made pizza and so I'd used them, creating four large pizzas. I had also made some mozzarella sticks since my elective class had finished a little early and so I'd had plenty of time to coat the mozzarella sticks and freeze them before frying them which I'd finished just moments ago.
I'd also made a chicken fajita pasta dish and a chicken curry and spinach with coconut rice dish. These were both dishes that I had made at home plenty of times and can be made in around thirty minutes. If it wasn't for Piper having such a well-stocked kitchen, I wouldn't have been able to make all of this so I'd have to remind her about the pizza dough and chicken slices. I'd spent the first hour and a half cooking and then cleaning up afterwards. I'd only really just sat back down to focus on school work again since I'd had around an hour before getting up this time around.
I settled all of the dishes on the table in the kitchen, knowing that I could reheat everything when needed so I took another seat and tried to wrap my head around the calculus questions in front of me.
I was just deciding whether or not to give up or wait until Wyatt got home when I heard voices, so feeling curious as to who had arrived, I followed the sounds and saw my six friends, followed by Leo, walking down the stairs.
"Lila!" Ronnie and Janae cheered and I laughed at them as they all hurried over to say hello and hug me.
"We missed you!" Riley exclaimed and I grinned at her.
"I've missed you too. But it's only been...three hours? If that?" Riley just grinned and hugged me tightly, making Air tickle our faces happily and she pulled away, a large grin on her face.
"It was boring without you" Joe stated and Michael nodded as he walked over to me and slung his arm across my shoulders, hugging me tightly against his body.
"Hey dad" I grinned and he smiled back as the door to Magic School disappeared and he removed his black Headmaster robe before hanging it over the railing on the stairs. I eyed it warily.
"You know, if you were still a whitelighter, mom would blow you up for leaving your robe there? I don't want to deal with her being annoyed about it all night" I warned and Leo sighed before nodding and he disappeared upstairs to place his robe into a place where it would be safe. Mom had already threatened to blow his robe to pieces if he left it lying around the house one more time.
"It's so cool!" Ronnie squealed and I laughed as Vincent wandered off behind me somewhere and I shook my head at him.
"Are you doing Calculus?" he called and I guessed he'd gone into the conservatory so I laughed.
"Yeah, Wyatt brought it back home for me yesterday. I was trying to do it but I gave up."
"Why? You were nearly there." I felt my eyes widen in surprise. How did Vincent know that? He just chuckled before reappearing in the foyer as I turned around to face him.
Ronnie and Riley were stood on my left, the two of them looking around the parts of the Manor that they could see while Michael stayed on my right, watching Vincent and I interact with each other.
