Jady's POV

How long has it been? Three or four days, I guess. Gano'n ko na katagal na hindi nakikita si Nixera kahit nakatira kami sa iisang bahay. Tuwing may ginagawa s'ya sa 'kin, palaging bigla na lang s'yang nagiging busy.

Lagpas isang buwan na lang at kasal na nila Riana at Ashanti. Sa France ang kasal. Naghahanda na ang lahat at sobrang laki ng budget nila para sa kasal. S'yempre ako naman naghahanda na rin para sa bibilhin kong regalo para kay Ashanti at Riana. I want to give something grand for their special day.

"Bakit naman?" Sinimangutan ako ni Ashanti. "Maganda naman 'tong hikaw kahit araw-araw gamitin."

"Mawawala agad 'yan kasi burara ka." Kinuha ko 'yong isa pang catalog sa tabi n'ya. "May napili ka na bang photographer and videographer?"

"Wala pa." Ashanti sighed. "Si Nixera sana dahil medyo ka-close na natin s'ya, pero no'ng malaman ko kung magkano ang binabayad ng mga tao para sa serbisyo n'ya, napaurong ako."

"P'wede ko naman s'yang sabihan. She might be considerate."

"Let me do it for free." Napatingin agad ako sa front door dahil sa pamilyar na boses na 'yon. Nakita ko si Nixera na may dala-dalang maraming bag. Diretso ang tingin n'ya sa 'kin bago n'ya ko nginisian. "You don't need to give anything in return."

"Sure ka ba? Sa pagkakaalam ko 'yong huling beses na naging videographer and photographer sa isang kasal, lagpas twenty-five thousand dollars ang binayad sa'yo," nag-aalalang sabi ni Ashanti. "Kung libre na 'yong service mo, ako na ang bahala sa plane ticket mo since sa France gaganapin ang kasal ko."

"No need to worry about my plane ticket too." Nginitian ni Nixera si Ashanti nang makalapit na s'ya sa 'min. "Jady and I can use a private plane to France for your wedding day."

"Kasama dapat ako ni Ashanti sa—"

"Afraid to be alone with me?" Nanlaki ang mga mata ko sa sinabi ni Nixera. "Relax. I'm not going to do anything on our flight."

Napatingin agad ako kay Ashanti. Pati s'ya ay nakatingin sa 'kin at nagtatanong ang ekspresyon n'ya.

"I'll just change my clothes then I will cook dinner for all of us."

Tahimik lang kami ni Ashanti habang pareho kaming nakatingin kay Nixera. Nakaakyat na si Nixera sa second floor, pero wala pa ring nagsasalita sa 'min ni Ashanti.

"Bestie, umamin ka nga. Nakipag-sex ka na ba kay—"

"What the fuck!" Nahampas ko sa braso si Ashanti ng wala sa oras. "Ano ba 'yang tinatanong mo sa 'kin? Why would I even do that? You know that I'm gay!"

"W-Wala ngang something sa 'min." Umiwas ako ng tingin. "Nothing happened between me and Nixera."

"Haluh s'ya. Hindi mo naman kailangang itago sa 'kin. Normal lang naman 'yan dahil babae s'ya at lalaki ka, pero feeling ko talaga si Nixera 'yong unang sumunggab sa'yo." Naiinis ako dahil natawa pa si Ashanti sa sinabi n'ya. "She's like the clear depiction of a dominant receiver, a power bottom."

Hindi ko nai-imagine si Nixera bilang bottom. I just can't. If she's a man, she have probably fucked all gays and girls out there. She's an adventurous person in bed. Wala pang nangyayari sa 'min ay alam ko namang she's one of those people who believed in hump and dump system.

Nixera's POV

"I'm doing good, Mom. I'm not exhausting myself too much and I'm eating at the right time." Sumandal ako sa pader habang hawaka ng phone ko na malapit sa kanang tainga ko. "Work's good too. A little hectic, but everything is going in the right places."

"Sweetie, how's your search for her? Any clues?"

"I went to Makati yesterday. I found some clues that she might be living in Cebu right now. I'm planning on going there in the second week of next month." My head throbbed a bit, but I prefer to endure it. "I will find her this time, Mom."

"Why don't you look for her on social media?"

"It will make a lot of issues." I scratched my nape. "And if she will find out that I'm looking for her, she will run away again like a coward who's afraid to see the most remarkable person from her past."

"Your Daddy wants to talk to you. Do you have time?"

"He's just going to persuade me to stop looking and go there to live. I don't want to talk to him right now, Mom. But tell him that I will not fail. He should try harder to stop and use other people, not my friends."

"I'm so sorry if your father is like this, sweetheart." Nahimigan ko ang lungkot at pag-aalala sa boses ni Mommy. "I don't know what to do with him. I told him not to meddle with you, but he doesn't want to lose control. Please, talk to him properly when you're ready. I don't want you holding a grudge with your father."

I smiled.

My mommy's the best.

"I will, Mom. I need to hang up now. Magluluto pa po ako. Don't forget to stay healthy, Mom. See you soon."

"See you soon, sweetie. Eat a lot, okay? I love you."

"I love you too, Mom. I love you more."

Namatay na ang tawag at saka lang ako nakahinga ng mas maluwag. Mommy's really incredible. Even a short call time with her is enough to make me feel a lot better.

Mabilis kong inayos ang mga gamit ko dahil marami akong dinala sa ilang araw na pagiging busy ko. I also bought a lot of clothes and other stuffs. Good thing I bought two formal dresses. I need something to wear for Ashanti's wedding.

It must be too early to decide on what to wear, but it's better to not cause any problems with the couple who's going to marry each other.

I changed into more comfortable clothes.

How odd. I miss this room because I was gone for a bit. Didn't get to sleep a lot on my bed for the past few days. Never knew that I will get attached to a mere room.

I combed my hair and sprayed a bit of perfume. I don't want to stink. Jady's here, so I can't look and smell bad.

As I descend the stairs, I heard Jady say the most unexpected words I've ever dreamt of hearing from him.

"I swear, wala naman talagang nangyari sa 'min. Gano'n lang talaga si Nixera. Palabiro lang s'ya."

Nahihiya ba s'ya sa mga nangyari sa 'min? May mali ba kong nagawa? Hindi ba s'ya nasarapan?
