You all finally reach the bridge.
It looms before you both almost menacingly. You push the strange feeling in the pit of your stomach away when Clementine squeezes your hand reassuringly.
You were going home. You all were.
"Just take your time guys," you mutter.
"And keep moving forward," Clementine follows.
You both step forward onto the bridge. She doesn't let go of your hand no matter how many times the planks creak underneath both of your boots, nor when the bridge groans as a strong gust of wind brush past, and definitely not when some birds get startled at your presences, flying away from the truck.
You both only let go of each other to hop over the back of the truck, taking a quick glance back to see the others approaching too. You both turn around and walk toward a gap in the bridge slowly, your movements cautious as you peer over the edge.
Falling surely meant death. There would be nothing to grab onto and you'd quickly meet the rocks below, then probably the freezing water.
"That's... far," AJ says nervously as the rest of them finally walk up.
"Really far," Tenn murmurs.
Violet sighs. "Should be able to jump it. It's not that far."
Clementine nods hesitantly, "Yeah, I think we can. We've just gotta be careful not to.."
She trails off as you all hear someone singing in the distance.
You all freeze.
You quickly recognize the song as the one Violet sang the night of the party, making you both glance at her with fear.
She looks just as scared as you both, her shoulders tense and her face pale in shock and confusion. The dread in your stomach finally explodes in your body as you all turn around back toward the truck.
"Never mind the darkness. Never mind the storm. Never mind the blood-red moon."
In the distance you watch in shock as Minnie walks up past the trees, her voice easily reaching you all, "The night will be over soon."
Tenn's face softens and he steps forward, "Minnie!"
He freezes when he hears groans. You all finally notice the zombies hot on her trail, following her voice probably more than her scent at this point. She's covered in blood, that much you can see even from where you stand, the giant bite mark on her face only confuses you as to how she's not dead.
"I did it! I found you! Oh, Tenn.." she trails off with relief, the axe slung over her shoulder swaying in her grip as she stumbles forward.
"My sweet little brother. Come with me."
He shakes his head, stepping back, "You're dying."
"Yes! Yes, I am. I'm finally going some place better. I want you there with me," she says as she walks forward onto the bridge.
"W- where everyone gets to be a person again.." he steps forward to the truck again.
"We're gonna go be with mom, dad, and Sophie. Together," she reminds him.
Clementine steps forward anxiously. "Tenn, listen to me. I know that looks like her, but that's not your sister."
"She's gone, Tenn," you mutter.
He glances at you both, "I'm-"
Minnie shoots a gun toward the overhang of the bridge, cutting you all off. "Don't you fucking speak to him! Any of you."
