"Mr. Aizawa wait I-" I tried to explain it before being cut off.
"Enough. Bakugo, Todoroki wait outside for a moment please I need to have a discussion with problem child #1 over here." He said while glaring at me, not even seeming to acknowledge the other two people in the room other than with his words.
"Oh did I get a promotion? I thought I was problem child #3!" I tried to lighten the mood and possibly distract from the conversation we were about to have.
"Enough" Aizawa stated harshly. "This is no time for jokes. Bakugo, Todoroki out now. I'll come get you when you can return. Midoriya is also outside, go talk with him or something."
I watched as the two slowly registered what they were told and began making there way out of the room. As I watched them leave I noticed every few steps Todoroki would shift his hero suit slightly. I made a mental note to ask him after cause he seemed quite uncomfortable, and seeing as neither of them had changed out of their suits, I assumed neither had been given a check up after the fight. I figured the urgency of my condition had caused everyone involved to forget their own need to get a quick look over by a doctor. The moment the door shut after they left I decided to try and start a conversation to distract Aizawa from examining my condition.
"So is Midoriya okay? You said he was outside I didn't know he was here?" I questioned thinking it would be a safe enough question.
"He's fine other than the exhaustion from controlling his quirk and using his own energy to keep you alive." He stated bluntly as I cringed at his tone of voice, "What were you thinking, doing that move. Back at U.A. we had discussed multiple times under no circumstance should you ever use it on that scale if you wanted to live. And what's one of the first things you do in your prohero career? Use that damn move. You can't keep doing this, do you know how many people you scared? I got a call saying I needed to be here because you might be gone any minute. I passed the crime scene to see Midoriya trying to calm Uraraka down from a panic attack when he informed me what was happening. Hearing what you said when I walked in obviously did not help Bakugo and Todoroki's state of mind, so please just tell me what the hell you were thinking!" Aizawa finished raising his voice slightly.
I took a moment to process his words, in the moment I wasn't able to even think how the outcome could have affected everyone else after I was just focused on saving them in the moment. "I don't know, I'm sorry..." I stated quitely.
"You're sorry? Sorry doesn't fix the fact that you're lying in a hospital bed with little to no movement, your right hand is broken in multiple places, and 3rd degree burns almost all over (Y/N). I need you to tell me what the hell is going on." Aizawa finished with a worried look on his face.
I was shocked for a moment looking to my right hand not even realizing the cast was there. "I couldn't let them win, he had a NOMU and everyone was backed into a corner since it grabbed me. I couldn't think of anything else to do. I figured it was better that I just get hurt than everyone else." I finished explaining my reasoning quietly.
I heard Aizawa groan and I finally glanced at the look on his face I could tell he was getting frustrated with the conversation, "You and Midoriya are always thinking like that. I understand we are all heroes but you need some self preservation. Where was Todoroki during all of this? I heard you already moved in so I assume you had back up?" He questioned.
"He arrived after I was already caught by the NOMU I left before him because I could get there faster. The message I received seemed highly urgent so I took off using my quirk, which he clearly cannot keep up with." I tried defending myself and Todoroki from Aizawa's growing irritation when his next comment caught me extremely off guard.
"So you're telling me he would be inefficient as a partner? If he can't keep up with you and handle these types of things we could easily use that as leverage to try and convince the Commission to drop this arrangement. Personally, I feel Bakugo would have been a better fit in the first place, however if we also plead the cause your mentality is not in the right state you may be exempt completely..." Aizawa stated thinking out loud.
"That's not what I was saying at all, I was saying not to blame him." I started defending Todoroki, "And unless I can get out of the arrangement completely I'd rather not have the Commission passing me around like a damn toy."
"Your right, I apologize for getting off track, I truly just want what is best for you. Today just demonstrated that the league is still clearly a threat to you specifically. Which means you may be pulled from the field or any missions involving them, it's just too risky."
"Aizawa are you serious right now? Hero work is my job you can't just pull me because one type of mission has an increased factor of danger. You don't have that authority and neither will I listen to such a decision." I fought back.
"I don't but the Commission does if they realize the connection. Which they would if we made the case to switch your partner or try and get you out of the arrangement. I don't like that the League, or at least one of its members still has an active interest in you. Especially for the reason they do..." Aizawa finished off tensely.
"Aizawa I appreciate your concern and I'll think about the things you said, but could we discuss this all at a different time? I really don't have it in me right now." I stated tiredly. I did not have the mental capacity to figure these things out right now.
"Your right, I'll come visit again tomorrow with Eri, I'm sure she'll feel worried when she finds out. I'll tell the boys they can come back in alright?" He gives me a gentle hug as I reply with a quick okay and goodbye.
The moment he leaves the room I take a big breath wondering what I'll have to listen too next when the rest of them come in.
Aizawa's P.O.V
I take a deep breath as I leave the room only to realize the three I left in the hallway are all huddled near the door, clearly pretending they were not listening. "And what do you three think you're doing?" I questioned looking at all of them. When I received no reply I glared straight at Midoriya knowing he'd be the one to cave first.
"I'm sorry Mr. Aizawa! We didn't mean to hear your conversation and we didn't hear it all! Just the last half of it!" Midoriya rushes to answer before I can even question them again.
"Stupid Deku" I hear Bakugo mutter, it seems somethings really never change.
"Whatever, it wasn't that important anyway. You guys can go talk to her, but you probably already heard that. Just try not to give her too hard of a time okay?" I commented before making my way down the hall away from the group. I had a feeling they were going to be having a very interesting conversation soon.
