Forced to Settle

"(Y/N)!"

I vaguely heard Bakugo yell my name as I took off out the doors. I couldn't think or even see were I was going, I just knew I had to get out of that suffocating room. I made a quick turn and bolted down the hall towards the bathrooms. I knew I had already made a scene by taking off, but I couldn't bare to have panic attack in front of all those people. I've managed to keep up the act I'm fine for almost a whole year now with only Bakugo and Mr. Aizawa knowing truly the state I'm in. I finally saw the bathroom ahead and ran in and locked myself in a stall. I had a feeling someone would find me in here eventually, but for now I'd let my own thoughts run the show.

Everyone else stood in the arena silent for a minute, just listening to the footsteps of one of the happiest, most optimistic fade down the hall. No one had expected the reaction, not even Mr. Aizawa, he knew she was holding on barely through the whole thing but even he thought she would silently accept it with everyone around and then break down later. Suddenly the silence was broken by the hot headed hero.

"This is all bullshit! You can't treat her like some pureblood animal that needs to be bred! Not only are you already making people pair up for your stupid little social experiment, but if one option fails you'll just change it!? We have all given up countless things just to save and protect people and this is how you treat your so called heroes?! Well fuck that!" Bakugo yelled to the commission representative as he hurriedly made his way out to follow the girl.

Everyone knew they became better friends in their third year, but no one had expected him to go after her leaving everyone more confused. A few turned to look at Todoroki to see his reaction only to find him with a cold glare on his face. He turned to glare at his father who looked at him as if to tell him he needed to discuss something with him. But instead he ignored it and turned back to the representative with the statement, "Now if you are done we all have work that needs tending to."

"Yes that is all. We expect that you all move in with your partners soon. We'd rather not have to be on your case about this so just follow orders and everything will be easy. Good day."

As the representative left the arena, all the young heroes began to finally process their situation. The older heroes who were there to supervise were overwhelmed with trying to help their old students and interns. Some were distraught, some were angry, some had just shut down, and others like Todoroki just left without even talking to their assigned pair yet. Everyone was trying their best to work with their assigned pair to make a plan even if they were struggling with their emotions. Everyone had split up into small groups of people they were familiar with. Each group had a few older heroes offering their help and comfort.

As much as Aizawa was worried for all of his old class, he was extremely concerned for (L/N) and Bakugo. He knew they both had trauma from things that happened that only they knew. He was happy that Bakugo had taken off after the girl, but he was worried if they were both in the mental state to help each other or if they'd both drag each other down. He knew it also wouldn't help that Todoroki had already left also. He thought of even more scenarios as he made his way down the hall in search of the two.

Bakugo had found the bathroom (Y/N) was camped out in quite easily as there was a steady stream of light glowing under the door. He knew from that alone that this wasn't good, and he knew he wasn't processing things at the moment either. The girls quirk had developed a fight or flight mood anytime she became too overwhelmed after what had happened their third year. He made his way into the bathroom to hear strained sobs. He made his way to the stall and knocked on the door to gain the girls attention.

"Hey let me in or I'll find a way to get in."

Once I heard the voice of the only person who really knew what happened last year , I stood on shaky legs to go unlock the door. I saw him standing there wide eyed looking at my when my legs gave out. Luckily he caught me before I hit the ground, but we both knew this time wasn't something we'd both just get over.
