Where Do We Go From Here

(This chapter will mostly be from Todoroki's view so y'all can kinda understand where he stands and future actions)

     After ending the night time intervention with his new, what would be the term, I guess roommate would be the most appropriate at the word, he was left with mixed emotions. On the one hand he was in disbelief that U.A and the heroes involved have been able to keep this whole situation under raps for almost a year now. Another part of him wonders how at the time no one questioned the unusually long mission and the change that happened between all involved. Everyone just wrote it off as they matured from some real hero work so no one really brought it up, but after hearing what the villains had done he felt disgusted.

     He thought back to all the times growing up in his own house where he wished he had more freedom than was granted. His worst fear was becoming the same type of man that his father was when he was younger. As much as he hates to admit it his father has been trying to be better since his first year, and as much of a blessing that is it will never make up for who he was. Now he was forcefully thrown into the same situation his father signed up for. Now he knew by any means that is was not the same as the choice was not necessarily his. But he knew he couldn't accept these circumstances and he would try anything to change them, because even though it was for "the good of society" or whatever bullshit the Commission used to get people to agree he just couldn't do it.

   But with the story he had just heard he wasn't sure how to progress forward anymore. Thinking back to the meeting he now understood why the girl took off. At the time it seemed like an over dramatic reaction, but after learning what had happened he couldn't imagine how the girl felt hearing once again she would just be of use for someone else's benefit. The more he thought the more he saw how twisted society had become as what the villains wanted with the young girl is almost the same as what the Commission wants out of all the newer, younger heroes, just with a different approach.

     The more he reflected on the actions of the past 48 hours he realizes how unfair he had been to the girl, basically controlling her every move from the start, he didn't even bother to ask her anything. He just ordered her to pack her stuff and now she's staying here. He didn't fail to notice while they were talking the girl observing their surroundings for every exit and escape strategy, as he used to do the same thing when his father would enter a room. He knew when someone was trying to avoid a situation and now after hearing everything it might have been better to leave it alone. 

      The next thought that popped into his head was something that shocked him and left him disgusted with his want to escape this circumstance he was thrown into. However, the voice in the back of his mind was slowly convincing him it would work. He knew the Commission couldn't do anything against medical circumstances, and psychological health still falls under that category. He knew he was lucky as one of the only people with an assigned partner who could be reassigned. With proof of her strong friendship of Bakugo already in place if she caves under pressure she would be reassigned to him easily. He wouldn't have to worry about any of this mess and he could focus on his career solely. Realistically he knew she would not be able to make a public statement regarding the mission, and to pull this plan off and not look like the cause of the issue was near impossible.

    But as he was drifting off to sleep he began contemplating this idea of his more. He decided in the end that he would not use this trauma against the girl, but if it caught up to her and affects her due to his actions he will use it for the Commission. As heart breaking as his new temporary room mates story is he has no intention of making the situation permanent. And maybe it was the resentment for his own childhood that made him stoop so low, but he refused to be apart of the vicious cycle, and he refused to become his father.

     The future that was ahead for all the young heroes involved in this little science experiment was grey at best. No one was prepared for the mess that their world would soon witness.
