I Didn't Expect That

   Last week was a complete and utter mistake. It didn't matter that other couples were talking about engagement or planning for kids. No it only seemed to matter that they were NOT. On almost every site there was something about how cute our kids would be or what type of wedding we would have or when we would have it. It seemed people liked the idea of being able to try and influence heroes lives themselves. Well either way it made the Commission happy that there was so much attention on their "top" couple.

   Personally I'm about ready to disappear off the face of the Earth, teleport to the other side of the galaxy, switch to an alternate dimension if someone has figured out how to do that. I cannot handle the constant reporters waiting in front of the agency and following patrol routes. It just means when there's trouble there are more idiots in the way to try and avoid. The only time we managed to get them to leave was when Katsuki showed up and started throwing a fit about the latest news topics. Saying, and I quote, "Stop chasing all the damn heroes around I don't need to know who's fucking who in their free time" just in a more explosive tone. Since then they've been a little more subtle in general when trailing all heroes. It blew up on social media and turns out quite a few people were also angry at the lack of actual news.

   This leads me to my real issue, Shoto Todoroki, dear Shoto Todoroki has been quite confusing lately. After the most recent incident and working together I thought we were getting close and it still felt like that sometimes... but during patrols was another story. It's like he shut down outside of the house, barely talked, barely patrolled together, and barely stayed in the office unless the windows were closed. The other day he attempted to make Soba for breakfast and made lunch for the day, and while none of it was perfect the notion was appreciated greatly. Especially the fact he had been learning to cook and stopped ordering take out. The moment we went to work it was like I didn't exist.

    I remembered him freezing at the interview,  but I never felt like bringing it up I didn't want to push. However, his weird behavior could not go on any longer. I just needed a straight forward answer on whether he wanted to get closer or not be involved at all. Because watching him walk down the street a good three steps ahead for distance was really starting to piss me off.

   "Shoto? Did I do something? You know I can transfer patrol shifts if I am getting in your way." I offered, thinking a break from working together all the time would help.

    "No need I'm fine with the schedule." He answered dully.

    "Okay... Then do you want to tell me what's wrong?"

    "There's nothing wrong so don't worry."

    "That's a lie and you know it-" Before I could finish however there was a large crash up ahead. "We'll finish this discussion later." I yelled taking off running towards the commotion. It was a little outside our agencies patrol routes so there was a good chance there would heroes from other agencies to help too. I could see the rising flames as Shoto and I began to approach the building.

    I ran up to the first officer standing near the building to access the situation only to find out they believe someone planted a bomb and it wasn't any type of malfunction or accident. That's all Shoto needed to hear however before he took off running towards the burning building. I ran after him noticing his ice beginning to spread up the seemingly unstable side of the building. Once in the building I noticed the now wet walkway he's leaving in his path. 

   Seeing as he was making his way to the upper floors I figured my time would be best spent helping to eliminate the fires on the first flower, or at least lessening them to a level the firemen could put out easily. So I focused on pulling the energy from the fire and storing it until I could find a way to release it. This strategy always ends up making me antsy and energetic until I can expel the energy but it's good to have reserve power.
