The Wait

Chapter 2

"Hey Maggie!" I heard someone call.

I looked up from my journal to see it was my best friend Maria. We have been friends since 2nd gtade. We go both to school and church together.

"Hey," I said.

Maria sat down across from me and looked over at my journal.

" Whats that?" She asked.

I never really told her about my journal before.

" Oh,just a journal of mine," I replied.

" Oh ok,cool, I never knew you had one," Maria said.

" Well I do," I said nervously.I was afraid she was gonna ask me what I write in it.

There was a couple seconds of awkard silence.

"Well," she said, " Are you doing anything this weekend?"

"No, don't think so." I replied.

"Well," she said.

She really exagerated that word for some reason.

"Theres this youth group party this weekend.Wanna come?" She asked.

I thought about it for a minute.

Maybe Luke was gonna be there.Then I should definently go.But maybe I should ask my parents first.

"I should ask my parents first. Can I get back to you on that?" I asked.

"Yeah,sure, of course," she replied.

"Ok,Thanks," I said.

Ring Ring Ring Ring.

" Oh, thats the bell," Maria siad," See you after class."

"Alright,bye," I said.

We both got up from our seats and walked our own ways.

As I was walkin down the hall, I saw Luke. He was leaning agianst his locker,talking to some of his friends.He has so many friends,way more than me.

I started to walk right pass him when he walked up to me.

"Hey Maggie! Are you going to the party this weekend at church," He asked me.

"Um, I don't know yet," I answered.

I couldnt believe it! He acually was asking me to come to this party.

Me and him are not that close,so we don't talk that regualry.

"Well,you should because,I'm hosting." He added.

" Ok, I'll think about," I said blushing.

"Alright, I hope to see you there", he said walking away.

As I finished walking to class I decied to pray to God.

Dear God, Please have Mom and Dad allow me to go to this party,so I can get closer to Luke and to you.Please help me through this journy,The Wait.Amen.
