Chapter 17

After sitting in all my long classes, it was finally lunch time.

I looked around the lunch room for Maria because I really need to talk to her.

Then I saw her taking a seat where me and her usally sit.

I quickly ran over and took a seat next her.

"Whats up," Maria asked in a worried tone. She could tell I was upset.

Why wouldn't see that I'm upset? She's my best friend.

" Guess what Luke did?' I asked her hoping she would guess.

" What?" She asked anxious.

" Luke bailed, " I said really annoyed.

" What? " She asked not getting what I said.

" He canceled for tomorrow, " I said.

" Really? Why? " She asked.

" Because of his dumb football practice, " I stated still with a annoyed tone of voice.

I stared to tear up a little.

" Woah, Maggie calm down, its okay, " Maria said.

" I'm just really upset, " I said.

" Why? He just canceled one tutoring meeting," She said kinda confused.

" But I should have know that he was going to do this, " I said really trying to hold back my tears.

" Do what? " Maria questioned.

" Cancel on me, " I hissed.

" Listen Maggie its fine. He only canceled one time. You can't think this is going to happen over and over again, " Maria explained.

" I know but I feel like maybe this isn't God's plan for me and him to get closer," I said shedding one tear.

" Woah Maggie, your taking this way too far, " she said, " You can't think because of him canceling one time that its not God's plan for you to be together.'

" But- " I started to say. But then I started crying.

" C'mon. Lets go in the bathroom, " Maria said.

I slowly got up and we made our way to the bathroom.

I got some looks from some people but I don't really mind right now.

We got into the bathroom and Maria started talking again.

" Ok first of all you need to stop crying and take a deep breath , " She said patting my back.

" Alright , " I said breathing in and out.

But I still couldn't stop crying.

" Goodness Maggie! Are you really that upset? " Maria asked.

"I don't know," I said kinda confused.

I'm not that upset anymore but I still can't stop crying.

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"I'm trying to stop crying but I just can't," I said still balling.

Maria thought for a moment.

"There must be only one reason for this," She said holding uo her index finger.

"Wh...what?" I asked with a sniffle.

"You're on your period aren't you?" She asked raising a eyebrow.

I thought for a minute. Oh yeh, I totally forgot.

I shook my head yes.

"That explains it," Maria said.

"I'm sorry for all the drama," I said whipping away my tears.

"It's fine. I totally understand," Maria said with a little giggle.

When I got home from school I went upstairs and did my homework like normal.

After I really needed to pray because it was super stressful.

Dear Lord, Im sorry for the super stressful day. Im sorry for my very wrong attitude today. Please forgive me. I also pray that nothing bad is going happen between me and Luke. Please help me through The Wait. Amen.
