The Wait

Chapter 8

I got home from school on friday so excited beacause the football game was tonight!

I've been to high school football games before but never my school's. But they are so fun!

I decied to change into something different to wear.

I picked out some shorts with a cute jacket and some vans. I put my hair in a pony tail and put on some extra mascara and lipstick.

I'm also bringing a Nike bag with me because after the game Im spending the night at Maria's house. So I packed some clothes.

Shes going to be there too but shes a cheerleader so she will be out on the field the whole time.

Once I got comepletly ready I went downstairs to get a snack.

I went into the kichen and grabbed an apple and sat down on the counter and got on my phone.

But then I was interupted by my older brother Kevin comeing in the kichen.

"Hey, whats up sis?" He asked.

"Nothing much just eating a snack," I replied.

"Oh ok," He said.

"Are you doing anything fun tonight?" He asked curious.

"Acually,yes I am.Im going to a football game," I answered with pleasure.

Kevin always likes to bug me what Im doing because he is convined I have no friends.

"With who?" He asked.

"My friends," I said.

"Woah,you have friends?" He yelled.

"Yes, I do. Goodness,when are you going to grow up! Your 19 now," I yelled back laughing.

"Never," He growled picking me up off the chair and tickling me.

"Stop," I tried to say but it was hard because I was laughing so hard. But thank God he acaully stopped.

"Thank you," I said out of breath.

"Your welcome," He said sarcasticly running away.

I let out a chuckle and finished eating.

I waited at the front door for Marrisa to come pick me up.

I decied to pray.

Dear Jesus, Help me to have a good time tonight with my friends. I pray that maybe I will see Luke tonight too. I also pray that our team wins the game and that Maria does a good job cheering. Oh, and also if I see Luke,please have Marrisa not to try to get me and Luke hooked up because if me and Luke do get together one day,I dont want it to be like that. And also, please help me through The Wait.Amen.

Once I finished my prayer I heard a beep beep. I looked up to see it was Marrisa in her car.

She was waving her hand moitioning to get in the car.

"Bye Mom.Bye Dad," I yelled then ran out to the car.

I opened the passenger door and sat down.

"Whats up?" Marrisa asked in a thugish tone.

"Nothing much," I said back in the same way.

We both laughed.

"Are you ready," she asked.

"Yup," I said asurely.

And then we drove off.
