The Wait

Chapter 23

Another Wednesday came along so of course that means tutoring.

I walked into the library and took a seat. I took out all of my notes and papers.

Then Luke walked in and took a seat from across the table.

"Hey, " Luke said with a charming smile.

"Hello, " I said back.

"How are you? " He asked like a gentleman.

"I'm great, " I said sweetly while trying not to blush.

Guys never act so politely anymore, so its kind of hard to not feel a little weird when he acts like that.

"So, did you bring your physics books? " I asked hoping that he hadn't forgotten.

You know how guys can be so forgetfull.
"Yes! I sure did, " He said with cheer in his voice.

He turned around to grab his back pack from off the back of his chair. He then pulled a book that said, " Level 11 Physics."

"Oh, good, " I said very happy.

I'm glad he didn't forget.

"May I see it? " I questioned.

"Of course, " He said handing it to me.

I flipped through the pages of the books. It looked a lot like of what I was doing but a little more advanced.

"Well... Most of it looks like what I'm doing so it should be easy, " I told Luke.

"Cool, " He said giving a thumbs up.

"Let's just get star-" I said but then getting cut off by a phone ringing.

Everyone in the library looked around to see who's phone it was. But then I looked over to see Luke digging into his back pack for something. He pulled out his phone that was ringing.

"Sorry... " He said to me then answering the call.

"Hello, " He whispered into the phone.

Luke got up from his seat and scampered out the library as he muttered into his phone.

As I sat and waited I just looked through Luke's physics book and flipped to the chapter of motion and force.

I took lots of notes and decided what I really needed to address to him and things like that.

I sat and watched Luke through the glass door.

All I could see was him looking really mad and upset while he talked into his phone.

I wonder what is wrong?

After just sitting and watching him for awhile I decided to check my phone. Its 5:00pm! That means I've been sitting here for almost 2 hours! Our lessons are only supposed to be till 4:00.

I decided I needed to get my stuff together and leave. Who knows how much longer he's going to be on the phone?

Once I started to get up from my seat Luke came running in.

"Why are you getting up? " He asked very cunfused.

I looked up to admire his face. He looks very stressed and upset.

"Its 5:00," I told him.

"Oh my gosh! It is? " He asked with very little clue.

"Yeah, " I said.

"Oh. I'm so sorry. I had no clue, " He said very sympatheticly.

"Its fine, " I said.

I felt bad. He looked very upset and like he need to go home.

"Are you okay? " I asked.

"Uh... yes I'm fine, " He trying to tough up a little bit.

"Alright, " I said knowing that he wasn't.

"Do you want fins-" He said but I cut him off by saying, " No. We will finish next time. "

"Are you sure? " He asked.

"I'm sure, " I told him asuringly.

As I walked by him to leave he stopped me by putting his hand on my shoulder.

"You didn't say bye, " He said with a little smile.

"Oh... Bye, " I said.

I smiled at him and looked down and kept walking.

As I walked of school I prayed.

Dear God, I pray that whatever is going on in Luke's life right now that you would take care of it. I also pray that this tutoring might get me and Luke closer. And if its not your will then all of this is in your hands. Please help me through The Wait. Amen.

Hey guys! I'm so sorry for not writing. I've been super busy and have been stuck on what I been wanting to write next.

Also I'm so sorry for changing this up again but I'm now only going to write when I can now. Because I've been super busy. But this will also be better so I can really concentrate on getting each chapter to get it just right.
