The Wait

Chapter 4

"Maggie," my friends screamed.

I looked over to see my best friend Maria and my other close friends Sydney and Jessica.

"Oh,hey guys," I replied.

I walked through the small youth room filled with many people.I think the entire youth group was at this party.

I finally reached my friends after having to scoot through many people.

"Whats up guys?" I asked.

"Nothing much," they all said in harmony.

" Tonights topic is Grace, Im so excited,",Jessic remarked.

"Cool," Sydney said.

"Awesome," I added.

There was a little bit of an awkard pause.

"Oh hey guys.You wanna play some air hockey?" Maria asked.

"Sure," We all said.

We all walked over to see almost all the guys gathered around the air hockey. We tryed to scoot in and see what was going on.

It was an extreme battle .It was Luke and another boy who I didnt know playing against each other.

I heard someone yell that Luke has defeated ten other boys.I also heard someone yell that the loser had to ask our youth leader,John,for a diaper because he peed his pants!

I laughed so hard.

Then, on the last round of course, Luke won.

All the guys were screaming and yelling of excitememt.

It slowly died down and some asked," Who would like to play the undefeatable Luke?"

I thought for a minute.

Why not me.I always play my dad at home and I always win so.

"Me," I yelled.

I just heard tons of gasps.

"You? A girl?" Some random guy said.

"Why not?" I boasted." Im not too shaby myself."

I walked up to the game and looked over at Luke.

"Just dont cry when I beat you," He giggled.

" Not in a million years," I shouted.

Then the game begun.

We went back and forth forever.I will admit Lukes pretty good,but not better than me.

It went on and on for like an hour.

More and more people kept coming in and watching,even John!

But finally it was the last round and we were tied.Next point wins.

I tried my hardest.I could hear my heart beating.I could feel the sweat running down my face.

And then I felt like everything was in slow motion.

I saw look Luke move his hand away from the goal. This was my chance. I pushed the peg as hard as I could.I also let out a little scream. I saw it move across the board and then..... GOAL!!!!!!

Everyone screamed!

I turned around and noticed that the whole youth group was there watching.

John ran over and held up my hand.

" The champion," He yelled.

Everyone screamed even louder!

I felt so proud of myself.

My friends ran over and gave me the biggest hug.

"Maggie," Maria whispered,"You won against your biggest crush."

" I know," I squeeled like a pig.

But then our conversation was interuptued by Luke coming in.

The whole youth got quiet.

"Hey Maggie..." He said.

" Yeh? " I asked.

He put out his hand and I shook it.

"Good job," He replied.

Then everyone started screaming again.

" You must be pretty good at physics to do all that?" Luke asked.

" Well I guess so," I repiled, " I do get straight A's in the class now that I think about it."

" Oh wow," He said.

" Well, I'll talk to you later," He said walking away.

" Bye," I said.

I decied to pray.

Lord, Thank you for giving me the strenght to win the game and for the good time I had with Luke too. Please help pulling me through this journey; The Wait.Amen.
