It was as if she was flipping through a picture book. The images flashing before Mayumi were all too real. The fear she felt as she watched, through bars, Emiko scream in agony as something was ripped out of her chest. She reached her hand out, screaming, desperately wanting to pull Emiko away but with a sharp breath she found herself, covered in sweat lying in her bed, her arm reached upwards. She sat up, covering her face and starting to cry. Since gaining her guardian powers, her feelings had become more clearer and scarier. She tried her best to think about her vision more, any details that may help her identify when this incident may occur.
Closing her eyes, she thought back to what was behind Emiko, a professor of some sorts, chained to the wall, Senku? Mayumi gasped, what did Senku have to do with any of this? Was he going to be trapped by the enemy? What if he was bait to lore out Emiko? "Is this further proof Emiko is our princess?"
--------------------------------
"I never knew you actually had it in you." Saki said proudly, slapping Emiko's back as they made it to their usual lunch time spot to meet the others. "It was on the cheek but we've made a very good start. Heck you even slept over his house!"
Emiko blushed with a loving smile. She was embarrassed but also happy. Saki had been waiting for this day, longer than Emiko had, and it was as if her plans had finally paid off. She grabbed Saki's hand, giving it a squeeze as a thank you.
When they reached the statue, there was no Nasa, no Senku, only Michiko and Mayumi. Emiko blinked several times, going to turn around to grab Senku from his class. She wasn't aware of him taking the day of due to sickness. Maybe he was in the nurse's office, or even in the library? Before she was able to make the first step, Kumi cried, running over to them holding something close to her chest. "Nasa," Saki exclaimed, Emiko whipping her head around seeing Kumi hunch over, crying over Nasa's limp body. The girls crowd around, "Come on buddy, what happened?"
Nasa was breathing heavily, his white fur covered in bloody patches. He opened an eye, smiling as he saw the girls in front of him. "S-Senku." Mayumi collapsed to her knees, her vision. "Ma-Masakuni was in on it." Nasa winced as he spoke.
"Mayumi," Michiko knelt beside her, placing a hand on her back, using it to rub small, comforting, circles. "I'm sorry, you're being thrown into another mission so quick."
Mayumi shook her head, leaning up and grabbing Emiko's wrist. "Don't go!" She cried, Emiko gasping at the request. "You can't go." Emiko leant down, looking Mayumi in the eyes. She shivered, the wind picking up, thrashing their hair around. Emiko could feel the fear Mayumi was feeling. For whatever reason, Mayumi didn't want her to go even though it pained her heart to leave Senku behind. This beautiful and strong woman was brought to a mess, whatever feeling she was having was enough to scare even her. "I had a vision," Mayumi continued. "I had it when it was too late but please, if you go, we might not be able to keep you safe."
Biting her lip, Saki leant forward, hugging Emiko from behind. "We're going to get Senku back," She assured, her grip getting tighter.
"I want to help too," Emiko smiled, a tear falling. "I want to be useful to you all."
"We can't afford to lose you," Nasa spoke up, Kumi kneeling down to match their heights. "You are our heir, Emiko."
"Heir?"
Michiko nodded. "If they get you, they're one stop closer to the crystal," She advised in a stern voice."
"We don't think your weak," Saki breathed heavily, her heart pounding. "And it's not because you're our princess we want to protect you."
"It's because we want to protect our friend," Kumi spoke up, crying heavily, her tears falling onto Nasa.
"I think I have a plan," Michiko smirked. "Where we save everyone."
