Pearl's POV
It was just three days before the big day, and the big night. I was looking at myself in the mirror, until I felt Dahlia's presence behind me. "How is my wife-to-be?" she asked me, "I'm excited and scared." I replied, saying the truth. "Excited is a good thing, but scared is a bad thing." she told me, before she wrapped her arms around me softly. "Something could go wrong, Dahlia." I said, "Nothing will go wrong." she said back. I let out a deep sigh, turning around and wrapped my arms around my Queen.
"You don't have to be scared of anything, Pearly. I won't hurt you." she reassured me. "I know."
"Then what are you scared of?" she asked. "I'm scared of seeing your eyes. One look and I'm a goner. It's too draining." I replied. "You can wear a blindfold, if you want, or you can brave it." she told me. "I think I will brave it. No point in wearing one of those. Your vampire side will take it off anyway and consume me." I told her. She nodded, smiling a little. "That's right. She would do that." she said. Was it just me, or was she showing early signs?
I studied her for a couple of minutes, hearing her chuckle which made me pull away. "You are showing signs. The blood moon is almost here. My fear has come true." I told her, before she gently grabbed both of my hands and took me over to the bed. She sat down on the edge of it, bringing me on top of her.
"Mate." I said the word out loud this time, "Mate." she purred back before she pressed her lips against mine. Invisible sparks of electricity shot up my back, causing me to have goose-bumps. Yep, the signs were all there. As we were making out, it looked like Dahlia was covered in glitter, when really...
It was sweat.
Did this mean that the blood moon would be stronger? Shit...
