Secrets of the Eclipse

Chapter One

Alana Jones was just an ordinary 18 year old, High school student. She all her life lived with her dad, Daniel and her 11 uncles.

All her life she lived her life happily.  She never questioned her dad why her mom wasn't present because he remembered the memory distinctly that made her decided it will never be mentioned ever again.

Flashback

Alana was five when she came across something from her dad's study.

She found a picture frame of her dad with her uncles surrounded by beautiful young woman.

They were smiling to the camera. It looked as if it was from a wedding.

Her eyes widen and realized that the woman was her mom. She rushed with the picture frame to the bedroom where her dad was coming out from the bathroom.

"Daddy"

She jumped onto him and she caught her before they both fell on the bed.

"What's wrong my baby?"

Alana showed the picture to him and ask "Is this my Mama?"

Daniel's expression changed from happy to sad in an instant. He wish he could lie but he couldn't.

"She is baby girl. Isn't she beautiful?"

"Yes Mama is beautiful"

Daniel gave his daughter a smile? Slightly sad his wife couldn't see this moment.

"Daddy.....where's Mama?"

That question struck Daniel as it went awfully quiet for a long time. She swallowed the lump that got stuck in his throat and answered "She is with your grandpa and grandma. They are at a  beautiful place. Someday we will meet them as well"

Her eyes widen and she smiled "Really?"

"Really baby girl. Now run along and play with Mr. Teddy okay. Daddy going to get dressed and later we can go out and get ice-cream what do you say?"

Her eyes twinkle with excitement

"Okay daddy!!" As she kisses his cheek and ran out the door and headed towards her bedroom leaving her dad alone in the bedroom.

The picture frame laid on the bed facing him and he tears started to come down.

A knock was heard and Estelle came in and saw him crying settling himself beside Daniel and letting the man cry on his shoulder. He saw the picture and picked it up and he too shed some tears.

"Adriana would be happy to see Alana grew up so well"

The crying continues

"I can't do this anymore Es...Alana doesn't deserve this heartbreak. We were suppose to be a happy family. But that day...." Daniel continue to cry

"Alana will find out the truth eventually but what the past is past we must move on. Dan...You made a promise to Adriana to protect Alana. Remember that. You have to stay strong for your daughter. She's only have you"

"Es....what if I fail to protect her too?" Daniel ask

"I'm sure she will be alright. She's strong like her mom. And she got us. Don't cry"

By the door, a little girl in pigtails heard the conversation by accident and knew the subject regarding her mom will not be mentioned ever again.

End of Flashback

Now Alana lived her life happily despite her heart wondering what had happened to her mom that made her dad devastated.

Her questions were left unanswered for years until it was her birthday.
