Secrets of the Eclipse

Chapter Five

One month later:

A month have gone by and the attacks were more frequent. Alana stayed by her mom's side and she watch herself grow.

Adriana was by the study table when Alana came in and saw the bunch of letter and knew those where the ones her dad gave her ever single year for the past 18 years of her life.

She saw her mom putting the ring in a small box and taking out a fake ring putting it on herself.

Alana knew there's nothing that she could do but watch as everything unfolds.

Her dad came in and her mom pouting as he was kicked out again giving an excuse to get her something to eat.

Alana knew this was the moment until her mom stood up and was about to leave did something she wasn't suppose to.

"Mom stop!"

Adriana stopped in her tracks and turned looking at Alana, shocked

"Alana....what did you call me?"

Alana gulped as Adriana came closer towards her. Alana went to lock the door.

"Mo-mom..." Alana repeated is slowly and Adriana's face was pale.

"You mean...."Adriana uttered and Alana nodded

"I'm Alana Jones. Daughter to the Queen of Chameli, Queen Adriana Matthews and her Guardian of the Eclipse, Daniel Jones. I have a real uncle Estelle and 10 other uncles who are as crazy as ever. You used to have a pair of cats..."

"Jean and Skye" Adriana said

Alana nodded and continued "I never knew how my mum looked like until I was five I found a picture frame of you and dad's wedding day. I asked him and he said you were with grandma and grandpa and we will meet again"

Adriana couldn't digest much. But just listened.

"You inherit a boarding house that used to have three tenants, Tya James the student from NYU, Gill, the high school student and James, the part time bartender and DJ at a club"

Alana watched as her mom sat down on the bed her mind still thinking so many things.

"You have a bike to ride to school everyday. Oh you used to major in Literature at NYU....You-"

"STOP!" Adriana cut the next words Alana wanted to say "Stop...I got it"

Alana then watched as her mom stood up and went to her and suddenly hugged her.

"My daughter" she caressed Alana's hair and continued  "You are so beautiful" Adriana hugged her and that made Alana want to cry.

"Mom. Please....don't leave the room. Before it's too late"

"But your dad..." "He'll be okay. Mom. I want you to live. Even if this is against fate I won't let you die. Not when I'm here. Let's go and hide" saw her baby self and carried her bassinet but Adriana took only her baby self and said "That weight will slow us down. What's your plan?"

Alana held onto the ring and at that moment a bright light that pierced through the entire kingdom made the enemies blinded and soon disappeared.

"That. That was what I wanted to do"

Adriana was shocked as they got out of the room to find the 12 and Benjamin running up the stairs heading towards them.

At that moment, a poisoned arrow  was headed towards them, Alana saw it  and was aiming towards her mom.

She ran in front of her mom and the arrow struck her shoulder.  She fell instantly

"Alana!!!!" Everyone yelled out her name and and the last image she was was her mom crying as she fell into total darkness.

When she woke up, Alana realized her surrounding and saw her own bedroom.

"I'm back home? Was it all a dream?" She mumbled as she moved slightly and felt pain on her shoulder.

"It can't be be a dream if I can feel that" she uttered and then she heard a knock and she opened the door as she saw the one person she thought she'd never see ever again.

"Alana...are you awake?" Her mom ask as she touched her daughter's forehead

"MOM!!!!" Alana said, hugging her mom.

Adriana smiled hugging her back  "Yes my baby...."she caressed her daughter's cheek "I'm here. I'm not leaving you ever again"

Alana started to cry and it made the Daniel who was nearby came in and held them both. 

Daniel and Adriana exchanged glances and smiled as Alana continue on crying"

"Mom....dad...."she said and looked at them both "I love you guys"

"We love you too baby girl" Daniel said

"We love you so much baby" Adriana said.

It was a happy moment for them as they are reunited. Alana hoped this moment will forever be kept in her heart always as it is the most precious most memorable moment of her life.

As time goes the lived happily but this wasn't the end of the story just yet.

Alana still hasn't settle things yet with Benjamin who was being rather reserved ever since Alana's reunion with her mom.

She wondered why he was being rather quiet and she confronted him  one day after one of their  classes.

He was pulled by her and headed to the store room and ask "What is happening to you lately?"

He looked at her and said "It's nothing"

"Really? Then why have you been avoiding me like the plague?"

She's been watching his every move for awhile saw saw his gaze and when their eyes met he turned his gaze someplace else, avoiding her. Even at home they didn't interact anymore.

"It's....."he uttered

"It's what? Tell me" she said, now frustrated 

"I can't tell you"

"And why not? Is it because I said said something? Whatever it is I'm sorry okay"

He doesn't know how to address this issue at all. He avoided her for a reason.

'How can I tell you that I've fallen deeply in love with you without making it look like I'm some creep?"

"It's not that..but..."

"But what Benjamin? Tell me"

Then he did something she never expected. He kissed her. Her eyes widen in shock and she kissed him back.

They shared that kiss for a minute before separated for air. He held her hands and looked into her eyes and said "I love you. From the moment I saw you I knew you were the one for me. Even though I seem to be a creep to you in the beginning but that wasn't my intention at all. But I'm glad I get to know the real you. I.....love you Alana Jones"

Alana was speechless and couldn't utter a word until she looked into those blue eyes and saw sincerity and love in them she knew he was not playing around.

"Ben....I-" she was about to talk but he cut in between

"You don't have to tell me now. Whenever you're ready you can tell me. I'll wait for you" he let her go and soon goes out of the store room.

It took a few minutes later that she uttered 'What the fuck just happened?'
