Secrets of the Eclipse

Chapter Four

Alana woke up the next day in a different room and remembered of where she was.

She got up, and went to freshen up and was escorted to join Her Royal Highness the Princess for breakfast.

As she came to the table it was rather awkward as the 12 kept on looking at her in an odd manner.

'Don't be suspicious'

One of her uncle raised an eyebrow and she knew she almost got caught. She just smiled at him

"Good morning Your Highness" she bowed before her mom and took a seat

Soon they had their meal and it made Alana sad inside. She watched as her mom laughing at her two uncles bickering.

Alana ate silently and knew didn't say a word until her mom asks

"Oh that's a lovely ring. Where did you get it from?"

Alana was taken aback by the question and looked towards Benjamin who nodded as she answered "My late mother gave it to me"

"Awww that's so sad. So you live with only your father?"

Alana looked at Daniel who looked her her suspiciously as she smiled and said "Yes. With my father and uncles. They've been protecting me all my life"

Adriana just nodded and said "It is alright dear. At least you have support. Oh yes, lets finish eating and we can have a chat around the garden"

Alana just answered with a smile "Yes,Your Highness"

At that moment, A servant came towards the table and informed some news.

"High Minister Rhubarb would like to have a word with you, as well as the Guardians"

She saw her mom sharing a look with her dad and her uncles and said "It must be important. I guess we will take a walk some other time, Your Highness" Adriana said and Alana felt disappointed but she knew she couldn't change anything.

"Oh, I will ask one of the servants to give you a tour if you like"

'"It is alright Your Majesty . I will retire to my chambers later on" Alana answered and her mom just nodded.

As they finished with breakfast her mom and dad left the dining room.

"Let's go" Alana proposed

"Huh? Where?" Benjamin asks, confused

"We see what was so important that the High Minister request for mom and dad as well the uncles to be present"

"This is a crazy idea Alana"

"Well you brought me here so shut up and let's go" she pulled him by the wrists and quickly ran down the same hallway where they disappeared to moments ago.

They quick followed them and headed to the throne room where they hid behind a huge pillar. They could hear what was being said and couldn't believe it.

"The Ministers propose you to be married or Your Highness will be forced to abdicate the throne"

She saw her mom's shoulder slumped and looking rather her face were conflicted.

'It must be a heavy request'

At that moment she saw one of her uncle looking around and she kept quiet as she continued watching.

"Well then let's have the wedding"

Soon the adults left the room leaving Alana and Benjamin. They looked at each other and Alana finally broke the silence "So you brought me to when she and dad are getting married because she had me"
