Chapter 5

Hailey's Point Of View:

The next morning my eyes fluttered open as I woke up. "I'm not in my room! Where am I?!?" I asked myself. Then I remembered that R5/ Riker adopted me. I sat up and looked around the room which must be Riker's because it's all blue. I sat up and looked around. There was no one in Riker's room so they are probably downstairs. I got out of bed and walked downstairs.

Its seemed awfully quiet until I went into the kitchen. Stormie was cooking pancakes on the stove. " Hi Grandma Stormie" I say and she turns around.

Stormie's Point Of View:

I was cooking pancakes when I heard a little voice behind me. "Hi Grandma Stormie". I turn around to see Hailey standing there rubbing her eyes because I'm guessing she just woke up.

"Hi Sweetheart. Did you just wake up?" I ask her as I pick her up and set her on the counter. "Ya. Do you know where everyone else is?" she asks. "Well I think they went to the mall actually." I say turning back to the pancakes so they don't burn." Would you like some pancakes?"

"Sure Grandma!" she tells me.

Riker's Point Of View:

I felt pretty bad for leaving Hailey alone while she slept to go to the mall. Maybe we should have brought her with us even if she was asleep when we left. I mean she's my daughter/ the rest of R5's daughter really. "Guys I don't know if we should have left Hailey alone at home, I mean she's only 4 years old." I said as we walked out of Hollister.

"Riker will you quit worrying so much? Hailey is fine. Mom is going to be there when she wakes up and then we will be there in a little while." Rydel tells me.

"I'm sorry its just that this is the first time since we adopted her that we haven't been with her." I really am worried that she is going to hate us now and I just miss her so much, I mean who wouldn't miss their daughter.

We walked into Toys R Us just as my phone started going off.I looked at the caller ID and saw it was my mom calling. "Hey guys wait a minute, moms calling so something must be wrong." I stop and wait for everyone else to huddle around me as I answer the phone and put it on speaker.

Hailey's Point Of View:

After I finished eating my pancakes that Grandma Stormie made me I stood up and sat on the coach. Then I came up with an idea. "Grandma Stormie can I call Daddy?" I yelled from the coach. "Sure sweetheart just come into the kitchen and I will let you use my phone." She says from the kitchen.

I get up and run to the kitchen. When i get there Grandma Stormie is already holding her phone dialing the number. I grab it and put the phone to my ear. It was ringing and then it stopped.

Phone Call: (R-Riker H-Hailey)

R- Hello?

H-Hi Daddy!

R-Hailey! Hi sweetheart! What are you doing!

H- I'm playing with Grandma Stormie

R-Thats nice, are you having fun? I miss you.

H-Ya but I miss you!

R-I know sweetheart but don't worry i'll be home soon I promise. I love you

H- Ok... I love you too.

End of call.

Rocky's Point Of View:

Riker and Hailey just had the most adorable phone call ever! I'm just surprised that she didn't ask to talk to Rydel. She is always with Rydel and loves her to death. I wish that she had the same bond with us as she does with Rydel. Maybe tomorrow I will take her somewhere...

*Skip to when they get home*

Rydel's Point Of View:

We get home after going to the mall and I can't wait to see my little angle. I unlock the door and not even 4 seconds before I walk through the door two small hands are already around my waist. "Hi baby!" I chuckle. "Hi mommy! Mommy? where's daddy?" she asks. Thats the first time she doesn't want to hang out with me the whole time. It kinda hurt. "Umm he's out getting the things from the car." I tell her as she skips outside to go find Riker.

"Mom? did i ever hang out with you all the time and then want to see dad more than you?" I ask my mom walking into the kitchen."Well sweetheart you never did that. Why do you ask?" she says coming over to hug me. "Because Hailey always wants to be with me but now I came in and she wants Riker more." I say tearing up a little bit.

"Awww sweetheart don't cry she still loves you as much as she did when you first adopted her, she probably just wants to spend some time with everyone else in the family and her dad."

"Mommy? Why are you crying?" I hear a little voice from behind me. I turn around and look at Hailey. "Honey mommy just thought that you forgot about her and didn't love her anymore." I tell her through my small tears.

"Mommy I will never forget you and I will always love you to the moon and back!" She says giggling. "Ok sweetheart thank you but come on let's get you to bed... who do you want to sleep with?" I ask her quite possibly already knowing the answer.

"Mommy can I sleep with daddy tonight?" She ask me. Not what I expected to hear. "Umm sure sweetheart I guess if you want to." I say sadly.

Riker's Point Of View:
As everyone walked through the door I stayed behind to get all the bags from the van. A few minutes later Hailey comes outside and hugs me. "Hi Daddy!" She yells making me jump a bit. "Hi sweetheart!" I chuckle.

"I missed you so much!" She says hugging me. "I missed you too" I say calmly. Hailey grabs my hand and pulls me inside. "Daddy is mommy crying?" She asks me as we step in the living room, near the kitchen. "Umm I'm not sure do you want to go find out while I put these bags away?" I ask her.

She walks into the kitchen as I set the bags on the coach and press my ear against the kitchen door.

"Mom? did i ever hang out with you all the time and then want to see dad more than you?" I hear Rydel say "Well sweetheart you never did that. Why do you ask?" Mom says going to hug Rydel. "Because Hailey always wants to be with me but now I came in from the mall and she wants Riker more." Rydel says tearing up a little bit.

"Awww sweetheart don't cry she still loves you as much as she did when you first adopted her, she probably just wants to spend some time with everyone else in the family and her dad." Mom says. By this time I'm looking through the crack in the door.

"Mommy? Why are you crying?" I hear Hailey say. Rydel turns around and looks at her."Honey mommy just thought that you forgot about her and didn't love her anymore." She tells her tearing up a bit.

"Mommy I will never forget you and I will always love you to the moon and back!" Hailey says giggling. "Ok sweetheart thank you but come on let's get you to bed... who do you want to sleep with?" Rydel asks her quite possibly already knowing the answer.

"Mommy can I sleep with daddy tonight?" She asks Rydel. Not what I expected to hear. "Umm sure sweetheart I guess if you want to." She says sadly.

They start walking toward me so I move away quickly. "Daddy! Guess what!" Hailey asks me with excitement. "What!?!?" I ask her joking a bit and poking her nose. "Mommy said it's ok that I sleep with you tonight-" "that's great sweetheart." I accidentally cut her off.

"Daddy I wasn't done..." She motions for me to bend down so she can whisper something in my ear. "I know that Rydel is sad so I need to sleep in your room so you can help me plan something for her." She says and I smile. She's so sweet.

I look over at my little sister and see her looking down and a almost pouting. I walk over to her and hug her. "Ok munchkin lets get you to bed." I say as I scoop Hailey up.

We get into our pjs and lay in bed. soon after she falls asleep I find myself drifting off as well...
