Chapter 14

Riker

After about another hour Hailey finally woke up. I rolled out of the hospital bed and walked to the bathroom.

"Daddy!" Hailey screamed from the room.

I ran out of the bathroom after I finished and sat by Hailey.

"What's wrong princess?" I asked her panicking. She looked at me with tears in her eyes causing my heart to break.

"I woke up and you weren't here so I got scared! Why did you leave me?" I almost chuckled a little bit but I knew that she was scared so I refrained myself.

"Sweetheart I just had to go to the bathroom for a second. I promise that I won't ever leave you. But we have to talk...." I told her getting a little nervous not knowing how she will react.

"What are we talking about Daddy?"

"It's come to my attention that we have a little problem here. A problem with Laura and Rydel." I tell her. She looks at me with concern in her eyes.

"Daddy, I love them both and I don't know what to do. Laura isn't our family (blood wise) and she is awesome but Delly is really cool and I love her so much! I need help Daddy." She said teary eyed.

"Awww sweetheart don't worry I'll help you. Ok so with Laura I think it's good that she's just a family friend because I don't have any feelings for her. Now with Rydel she's my sister and I love her but not like that. I think that you should just choose the person who makes you very happy." I tell her honestly. She nods her head and grabs my phone.

"I know what to do" she says proudly.

I nod my head and stand up.

"I'm going to go to the cafeteria. Do you want anything?"

"Can I pwease have some pudding and jell-o and some lemon cake we can share?" She asks with that adorable smile.

I nod and walk out giving her privacy to do what she needs to.

Hailey

After daddy left to go to the cafeteria I unlocked his phone so that I could make this right.

It rang three times before she answered.

???- Hello?

H- I'm sorry but you can't be my mommy...

???- Why not? I love you soo much though.

H- Because there is someone else that I love a little more. I'm sorry.

???- Is it $$$$$?

H- Ya it's $$$$$ and I'm sorry but I have to. I think you'd make a great mom, just not to me.

End of phone call.

After that daddy came back with all the food.

Riker

As I was walking back to the room I stopped at the door when I heard Hailey talking.

"Ya it's $$$$$ and I'm sorry but I have to. I think you'd make a great mom, just not to me."

I can't believe that's who she picked... But I'm glad she did. $$$$$ is going to be soo happy. I walked in when I heard her hang up.

"Hey sweetheart, I brought everything you asked for and more so we can share. I hope that's alright." She nods her head as I smile. I love my daughter.

Stormie
*when they left the hospital*

"Rydel Mary Lynch! Quit complaining right now or I will ground you for 2 weeks!" I yell over Rydel's whining. Right now we are driving back home from the hospital and Rydel was mad because we tricked her into leaving.

I look in the mirror as I see her start to pout. I know she loves Hailey but her and Riker need to talk. As we pulled into the driveway Rydel's phone rung.

"Hello?"

A/N: haha you didn't actually think that I'd tell you who Hailey picked... Did you?

Sorry I haven't updated this book in like forever. I'm on winter break and I thought I would update a lot more but I've been busy. Also for the first time in my life I had writers block for a few minutes. But the point is that I updated, sorry if your sleeping. Hopefully you read it tomorrow.
