Chapter 12

Hailey

After Aunt Rydel came and drove me to the hospital I was put on a gurney and pushed to the emergency room. Once I got in there I didn't remember much because they put me to sleep.

When I woke up I was in what I'm guessing is my hospital room with a whole bunch of wires hooked up to me and my leg. I sat up and looked around. Beside my bed there was a chair and a sleeping Aunt Rydel, it looked like she had been crying, I wonder why...
I looked to my right and there was a plate with food on it. On the plate was my favorite: pizza and Mac and cheese with Apple juice.

I started eating and turned the tv on but not too loud so I wouldn't wake up Aunt Rydel. I had already watched 3 episodes of Full House before I was done and decided to look for my phone to call someone.

I couldn't find mine so I grabbed Aunt Rydel's and tried to guess her password. Once I turned on her phone her screensaver had changed from her and Daddy to me and her. It was the same picture that I had as the screensaver for my phone. I wonder why shy changed it?

I attempted to unlock her phone with my first try it worked. Her password had been set to my name.... Interesting.

I scrolled through her contacts until I found the one that said Baby RyRy.

I clicked on it and it started ringing, on the third ring he picked up.

(Ryland- R, Hailey- H)

R- "Hey Rydel!"

H- "It's me Uncle Ryland!"

R- "Oh hey Munchkin! Why are you calling me? And on Delly's phone?"

H-"Well Auntie Rydel is sleeping and she looks like she's been crying but we are in the hospital."

R-"Oh ok... WAIT WHAT!! Why are you in the hospital?"

H-"It's ok it's just that something happened to my leg and Aunt Rydel took me to the hospital."

R-"Ok we'll be there soon. I'm going to tell your dad and the rest. Ok?"

H-"Ok Uncle RyRy!"

I carefully put Aunt Rydel's phone back and had just finished getting into bed and watching two episodes of Switched At Birth. I'm trying to learn sign language to expand my variety of languages. Plus I have to say that sign language is kinda like a secret language that no one really knows how to speak.

That's when I realized that Aunt Rydel was awake and looking at me. I just sat there and didn't dare to say a word until she said something first but there was one question that I desperately wanted to ask her.

"Hailey! Don't you ever scare me like that again!" She yelled which kinda scared me a little bit cause she NEVER and I mean NEVER yells at me.it must have shown on my face cause immediately as she saw my face, her face seemed to soften very quickly.

"I'm so sorry Hailey! I didn't mean to ye-" she started but before she could finish she saw that I was crying. She immediately stood up and hugged me.

After a while I stopped crying and I really wanted to ask Aunt Rydel my question.

"Aunt Rydel?" I asked her as she lifted her head as I spoke.

"Yes Sweetheart?" She asked

"Can I tell you two things?"

"Of course"

"Well first I wanted to ask you, how come you changed your lock screen to me and you? The same one that I have on my lock screen? And also, you do know you are and always will be my favorite right? Just like when you daddy came and adopted me 5 months ago."

She took a deep breath and answered.

"Well Munchkin I changed my lock screen because I love you so much and I didn't want anything bad to happen to you so I need something to look at that would make me happy and that's you. And for your second question, Yes I guess I do now. And you do know that I will ALWAYS love you SOOOOOOO much right?" She said while smiling at the last part.

"Yes Mo- Aunt Delly!" I said accidentally almost calling Aunt Rydel Mommy.

"Hey did you almost just call me m-" before she could finish her sentence everyone else in my family ran into the room.

"Omg Princess are you ok?!?!?" Daddy asks running in.

"Daddy!!" I yell trying to get up and run to him but then I remember my leg.

"It's ok princess don't move I'll come lay by you though if you want." Daddy says. I nod my head and he sits in my hospital bed with me.

After about 5 minutes I had already said hi to everyone and assured everyone that I'm ok. We were all talking until the door opened and in walked...

A/N: I'm sorry that I haven't updated in a while, I haven't had any wifi at neither my moms and dads house so I'm updating at my best friends house.

I think I might start doing questions at the end, just to try it lets see.
