Chapter 8

Hailey's Point Of View:
I woke up this morning in Daddy's arms. I looked around and saw that everyone but Uncle Ryland was still sleeping. "psst. Uncle Ryland! can you come get me? please?" I ask him hoping he'd hear me. He nods and walks over to where I am. He picks me up and takes me to the kitchen. "So did you have fun last night?" He asks me as I sit at the kitchen table.

"Ya yesterday was lots of fun!" I say excitedly. After Uncle Ryland makes me breakfast we go upstairs to his room so he can get dressed. We go back downstairs and now everyone but mommy is awake. I wonder why she's always the last one to wake up when she's always the first one to go to sleep?

"Hey Hailey, do you still want hang out with me and Ellington today?"Riker asks. I nod my head very fast and run upstairs to get changed and ready for the day. I change into my Falling For The Drummer shirt (Thats the name of my new book... be sure to check it out) and some jeans with my purple hightops. I run back downstairs and grab my smile sweatshirt before I'm out the door.

Ellington's Point Of View:
Riker asks Hailey if she still wants to hang with us today and she nods her head REALLY fast and runs upstairs probably to get ready. Riker and I grab the car keys and head out to the car after saying goodbye to everyone. A few minutes later Hailey runs out and hops into the car.

"So Hailey where would you like to go?" I ask her. "Anywhere that involves daddy and Uncle Ellington!" She says excitedly. I nod and whisper to Riker to go to the skating rink. He nods and starts to drive while I entertain Hailey so she's still surprised.

*When They Get To The Rink*

Riker's Point Of View:
When we walked into the Roller Rink I will never forget the look on Hailey's face, just how she lit up. We each got skates and I helped Hailey tie hers. We stepped out onto the rink and started skating.We were all having so much fun that we forgot what time it was.

I checked my phone to see if I had any new texts messages. 10 New Message Notifications and 20 Missed Calls:

Rydel: Riker! What the hell?! Where are you with our daughter?

Rocky:Hey Rike! Where are you? You were supposed to be here 3 hours ago!
Rydel is freaking out...

Ross:Umm Rike you might want to come home soon... Your sister is going insane and might kill.

Mom: Sweetheart Delly is freaking out cause she doesnt know where Hailey is... Please come home.

Rydel: Riker Anthony Lynch! If you dont get home soon I am going to find you and drag you home with my daughter.

Dad: Riker, buddy please come home before your sister goes mentally insane.

Ryland: Hey Big Bro! What's up?

Mom: Riker Sweetheart, I'm starting to get really worried.

Rocky: C'mon man just bring the kid back before Rydel throws a tantrum...(dont underestimate just because shes 21)
Ellington: Rike I think we should head home... I have 10 messages and 24 calls from Rydel...

I unlocked my phone and texted my mom:
Hey Mom! Sorry lost track of time but dont worry Hailey is safe so tell Rydel to calm down and that shes MY daughter, since I'm the one that adopted her.

I undo my skates and tell Hailey and Ellington to come over so we can leave. I help Hailey take her skates off and place her on my hip. Once we get in the car she starts whining. "Daddy I don't want to go home!" She whines.

Rydel's Point Of View:
It's already 10:43 and they are still not home. They were SUPPOSED to be home by 9, but NOOO they didn't keep track of the time. Oh is Riker going to get it when we gets home. Not from mom either, from me!

Hailey's Point Of View:
While Uncle Ellington and I were skating I saw Daddy sitting on a bench trying to get our attention. I tugged on my uncles arm and pointed to Daddy. He nodded as we skated over to Riker.

"C'mon guys it's late and we gotta get home." He says. I start to pout as he takes off my skates and puts them all back where we got them. Riker picked me up and carried me to the car on his hip with Ellington right behind us. He set me in my car seat and went to the drivers seat.

*When they get home*

I sat in my car seat until Daddy came to get me out. Once he got me out we started to walk to the door while I sat on to Riker's side. Uncle Ellington opened the door since Daddy couldn't get his keys out of his pocket and we stepped inside. Not even three seconds before we walked through the door everyone started rushing toward us,all except Rydel. She looked both happy and very very angry to see us. After everyone finally left us alone we started to walk over to Rydel. "Hi Mommy!" I said excitedly hoping that she wouldn't be as mad as she is now. She turned to me and smiled "Hi sweetheart! I was sooooo worried about you. I woke up this morning and you weren't here and then your father kept you out later than he was supposed to..." She said growling at daddy for the last part.

"Hey uhh Ell can you take Hailey upstairs to get ready for bed so I can talk to Rydel?" Daddy asks Uncle Ellington. Ellington nods his head and then grabs me from Rydel. I start to whine for Riker. Riker walks over and kisses my head and hugs me. "Don't worry sweetheart I will be up really soon to tuck you in and say goodnight. So just go with Uncle Ellington and I'll see you very very soon." I started to cry when Uncle Ellington and I got upstairs and I heard Daddy and Mommy fighting.

Riker's Point Of View:
It absolutely broke my heart when my little angle started crying. "What do you want Rydel?" I yell at her getting annoyed. " I WANT to know why you think its ok to keep my daughter out later than her bedtime!" She yells back.

"Ok first of all she is MY daughter and second I can keep MY daughter out for as long as I want!" I scream at her. "and by the way this is the end of this conversation because I am going to go be with my crying daughter." I yell stomping up the stairs ending the conversaion.

Once I get up the stairs I walk into Rydel and Hailey's room. Once she sees me she sits up with tears in her eyes and down her cheeks."Hey princess, I'm gonna go to bed now so goodnight and I love you." I tell her keeping the tears back. Just from looking at her I want to cry cause when she's hurt or upset it just kills me.

Before I walk out the door I hear a little voice. "Daddy can I please sleep with you? I don't want to sleep with mommy.?" she asks me. I nod my head and pick her up. As I walk out Rydel turns to me. "And where do you think your going with her?" she asks me with some sass. " Umm well I'm taking my daughter to my room because she doesn't want to sleep with you." I say walking to my room.

I set Hailey on the bed and get my pj bottoms on (since I sleep without a shirt). When I turn around I see Hailey fast asleep so I climb in and pull her close to me. "Goodnight my princess, I love you and I will love you forever" I whisper. I really hope that this thing with Rydel will pass in the morning because I don't know why she's acting like this but I don't want her acting like this in front of my kid especially since it's Hailey's birthday tomorrow.That's all I could think about before I fell asleep.

A/N: Ok so I'm sorry I haven't updated in like forever... I think that this chapter is kinda bad but I promise the next one will be better. I know in the last chapter that I said it will be Hailey's birthday but then I got this idea and I decided to do this first. In the next chapter I will have Hailey's 5th birthday I promise. Well I'm going to start working on the next chapter but even though its summer its like 12:30 where I live right now and I'm kinda tired so... Heres the chapter and hope you like it.
